Loved this place! Social but not rowdy and quiet hours were respected. Outdoor area was really nice and cosy. In a good location and felt safe. Staff were kind, welcoming, and gave good recommendations/advice. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, and bathrooms were never crowded. Would definitely come back.

We had a lovely experience staying here. Everyone was super nice and helpful, the garden is so pretty and nice spot to hang out and chat with people. Nights were quiet and breakfast and dinner were good each day❤️

*** AMAZING HOSTEL ***
The people, the place and the vibe really are amazing. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, felt right at home 💛

The dinner is super tasty, the rooms very clean and the bar area was so much fun (but not in a loud way you sometimes have at hostels). Also: I loved all the artwork and decorations!

I'm definitely coming back 😊

A great place to start or end your Albanian adventure!

I stayed just one night at Tirana Backpacker Hostel, but it was the perfect stop. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the city and walking distance from all the main sights, cafes, and restaurants. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with tips or just chat.

The hostel has a chill, social vibe that makes it easy to meet other travelers. Everything was clean and well-organized, and the garden area is a real bonus to relax after a day exploring Tirana.

Whether you're in town for a night or a few days, it’s a solid choice. I’d happily stay again!

While the garden area of the hostel was quite pleasant, the overall experience was soured by the unwelcoming atmosphere and unprofessional conduct of the staff. The hostel seems to attract a particular type of traveler who don’t engage much with others unless you fit their mold. If you’re not part of that scene, don’t expect warmth or friendliness.

We mostly enjoyed our stay until the final morning. Unfortunately, we overslept and were 30 minutes late to check out of our room. At no point that morning were we reminded of checkout time—only to be abruptly woken by an irate cleaner. Instead of handling the situation calmly, the cleaner berated and pressured one of the reception staff until he issued each of us a fine of 500 Lek. The fine was obviously made up and something we definitely did not agree to while checking in.

Later, when we returned to retrieve an item a friend had accidentally left behind, we were met with a surprisingly hostile attitude from different staff members. They aggressively questioned us on unrelated matters and implied they would not return the item unless we complied, which felt entirely inappropriate and petty.

On top of this, we viewed reception staff letting people in without reservations or proof of stay. I even had to send someone away who wasn’t staying at the hostel who was repeatedly buzzing the door for reception late at night.

Overall, the hostel failed to provide the basic level of hospitality and professionalism you’d expect. I would not recommend it unless your idea of a good time includes unwelcoming vibes and pretentious staff.

A Vegetarian hostel they don't allow cooking meat in the kitchen. The hostel looks like it would be good in the summer with a large outdoor space, but in the winter it seemed a little out of sorts with the common area either behind the reception or downstairs next to the kitchen. Some people working there were very friendly, others didn't like to talk to new people. The breakfast was good, rooms were ok although no curtains on the beds and the storage space needs your own lock so not quite as good as other hostels. I had some interesting philosophy conversations there.

Very nice place to stay in Tirana. As it was winter not full of people but still very friendly staff. There were plenty of showers and well-furnished kitchen. The garden was big and it has a bar if you want to drink or socialize. Also the location just 2 min walk from the main square. I would stay here again really enjoyed my stay

Amazing place to visit with friends. It was a great experience in Tirana and the hostel made it even better. Amazing service great people and home like environment. A place with great aesthetics and beautiful pictures. Each and every facility and very cheap price

This hostel is just great! I arrived there "by mistake" cause I had a problem with other hostel that I've booked. This place was so calm, nice people and atmosphere. Where helpful team, with many advices what to see and where to go. Tasty breakfast, clean bathroom, even a few baskets of things that people is sharing with other people - its so nice! The only one thing that I didn't like, its the noise at the garden, people stay until late and also when you are sleeping at the first floor, somehow you hear the steps upstairs.. Anyhow, for sure for me staying in Tirana is staying in this hostel.

We spent a lovely one night in a private room here. The bed was huge and fairly comfortable. The room was very clean and the shared bathroom was always in a very good state. The room did get very hot at night; the floor was wooden floorboards and there was no AC, however the host provided a fan which did help. The area was quiet so we slept easily, but we did need eye masks as the curtains let through a lot of light. What really made this hostel for us was the great vibes. A lot of thought and effort has clearly gone into curating beautiful and super functional communal spaces, such as the huge garden which has so much communal seating, lighting and art work. The kitchen was also really good and we liked how the hostel had a ‘take and give’ box where you could leave things you no longer needed and take what you wanted. Finally, the breakfast was really nutritious; there was lots of fresh fruit (like nectarine, melon, apple, pear, plum) and tea. The location of the hostel is perfect. It’s a 10 minute walk to the main square. The hostel workers are also so nice. In particular, the bar staff and Alfie were super friendly and welcoming. The price was 50 euros for us for the private room for 1 night. This was slightly more expensive than we had paid elsewhere in Albania. However, we have no regrets at all staying there and would love to come in.

I can write comment only about the restaurant. I have never encountered such wonderful service in a restaurant in my life not than here. The older waitress was so kind that. words cannot describe it. A warm welcome, suggestions and lots of smiles.
I am sure we will enter restaurant if we here again.

The place is utterly disappoiting. I went there for work trip, and I expected some form of comfort, only to find myself in a room with a broken AC. It was either you freeze (because the AC would be cranked to the max - you can't lower it) or you turn it off and endure the room heating up very quickly.
The room was clean, the towels were clean but the problem with the AC made it really difficult to be able to sleep at all, having to wake up to turn off/on the AC every few hours during the night...
Location is good, quite central but nothing special.
Breakfast was decent, nothing special, not a huge range of options though.

The family owned feel is prevalent from every single staff member. It’s a pretty busy smaller hotel but they seem to have a large number of returning guests, which says a lot. Breakfast is complete and tasty and the restaurant always serves delicious food. The location is very safe and convenient.

The receptionist is very nice, location is good if you are looking to walk around the center of Tirana.
The hotel's maintenance is quite low, we took the family room on the upper floor.
The tub was leaking making the floor wet, and the water system in the sink would not go down while the tap was running, looks like the water system is very old and needs some fixing.
Other than that the room was very basic maybe a bit overpriced (90€ a night)
Breakfast was basic as well but sufficient.
