Batman’s Hill on Collins in Melbourne

Great restaurant for an in hotel establishment. The 400g New York strip loin was cooked to order but slightly over seasoned for my taste. The accompanying blue cheese, beetroot and walnut salad was good my side of vegetables was overdone but we'll flavoured.

The server was polite and professional however more staff could help or simply having room service requests be answered elsewhere rather than at the restaurant.

For a meal and side approx $50 a head.

Best Western is a cool place to stay and its very much accessible! The room was clean, staff is friendly and there is a good restaurant in Ground Floor. I was lucky enough to find a last minute booking there which suited my budget during my official trip! I took a basic room, which is not very spacious, but it was good enough for a couple of days!

Stayed here one night in a twin room. Shower is very small but the room has lots of space. Beds comfortable and the room is very clean, staff are really good and helpful as last night it was very busy and everyone trying to get to there rooms after the P!NK concert a staff member helped us and let us use another elevator to get to our rooms.

Excellent location right in the centre of the city and brilliant value for money. The room was a decent size and very comfy. The bathroom was small but clean, and every day housekeeping did a fantastic job. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I really can’t fault it for the rates they charge. Highly recommended!

Room size is just nice for me, perhaps because I’m a petite lady. I have enough space to put luggage, walk around, and also enough tables and cupboard to put my stuff. The toilet is big, but the shower space is very small though. The door to the shower is very narrow. I think it may be very difficult for a normal size adult to squeeze in. Basin is so small that water is easily splashed out if I’m not extremely careful when opening the tap. The rest of the toilet space is very big but I have no idea of the purpose. A bit wasteful and it could be better to allocate more space for showering.

It takes time for the hot water to come out. I didn’t know and was inside shivering with the cold water on the first day. After that, I would let the hot water runs for a while before entering. There was water wastage, but it was really too cold for me. Water flow will also be slower suddenly.

Room is not soundproof. When people walked along the corridor outside, there will be squeaky sound. Can hear people talking outside too.

My room access card failed to work twice and I had to go down to the reception to fix the card. I’m not sure of the security level of the hotel. You don’t need access card to access the lift. The front door is in front of the reception, but there is not have always people there. I saw the back door opened sometimes, and anybody can just sneak in?

There is room cleaning everyday upon request, but they didn’t vacuum the floor. Other than this, everything else was fine.

No toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. I wasn’t aware and had to call the reception to check before going outside to buy.

However, I would still recommend the place because of the location which is very excellent and is in free tram zone. Very near to Southern Cross station and many cafes and eateries. Walkable to some attractions. Price is not cheap but if I compared to other hotels nearby, this is one of the cheapest for solo traveller.
