The hotel was very clean, the environment was nice, and the room was spacious with all the necessary amenities. It's also very close to the tram station, and the front desk staff were all very friendly. Highly recommend!

Stayed here every time when in Melbourne and so does our family. Great staff, friendly, amazing location. There used to be a pool on the top fooor but that’s no longer there.

This is a great hotel! While it's not in the city center, the nearby tram station makes getting around incredibly convenient. The interior is very clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff were warm and helpful. Being able to book a special offer room for around 400 a night makes it incredibly good value for money in Melbourne.

Immaculate room with ample room for dressing separate to the very clean, functional and beautiful bathroom, and roomy bedroom/lounge area. Guest services were no-fuss, quiet and relaxed. Loved the quietness and darkness of the room.

The room was great and clean, and the view to garden was nice as well. It was a satisfying stay!

The bed was huge and so soft, I didn't want to get out of it! The TV allowed screen mirroring, and the hot water in the bathroom was wonderfully warm – absolutely perfect for winter. There's even a desk for working. The facilities are brand new, the space is generous, and it offers incredible value for money.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. It's about a 20-minute tram ride from Melbourne city center (which isn't too far, but the tram is quite slow), then a 3-5 minute walk. The area is very quiet. The double room was very spacious, I'd estimate around 30 square meters. Even with two beds, there was still plenty of extra space. There's a walk-in closet-like area connecting to the bathroom (which is relatively small). The fridge is tucked away in a cabinet. All toiletries were provided except for a toothbrush and toothpaste. For Melbourne, where space is at a premium, this location and room size at only 500 RMB a night is a fantastic deal. I had to pay a 100 AUD deposit upon check-in, which was refunded on the day of check-out.

Pleasant stay again.
Room 609 the window drapes did not meet in the middle which meant we woke as the day started rather than having a darkened room for a sleep in.
Otherwise a good stay.

Nice big spacious rooms. Beautiful black out blinds. Bed was comfy. My only gripes were room service was quite slow with meals taking 40min, and I'm talking breakfast ordered at 0730. The lights indicating elevator buttons have been pushed are difficult to see/not very obvious.

Considering its 6pm Australia time, there isn't much restuarant open a this hour. Here we are, a hidden gem that serve good sushi and bento sets. You are really can't ask for more!

Had some physio at the Alfred not so long ago and instead of the run-of-the-mill style canteen there I decided to drop in and try Cafe La Colline on Commercial Road, just before St Kilda Road. Had a coffee there during my weekly visits over several months to the Alfred and one thing I particularly liked about Cafe La Colline, they always make a good coffee.

I went yesterday around midday hours. The lady who took my order does not know about customer service (It must be the same for all your customers, it doesn't matter if they are wearing a nice suit or not). She was not nice at all, took the wrong order and they didn't apologize for that. Terrible experience!

I found this place just wandering around, sunny outside area, fresh juice and home made banana bread. Wifi access great place to work on a sunny day just in front of fawkner park!

La Colline has had something of a renaissance (pun intended) over the last few years... it had lost its initial charm and quality baked food (that is original French owners brought to the place) and unfortunately the coffee too. But in the last year's this has been turned around (I'm guessing under new ownership). Staff are friendly, food - albeit standard cafe faire - has improved to a reliable level and range and the coffee is good too. It's my daily morning coffee haunt.

Delicious with generous sizings and tasty sweet potato options. Unashamedly unsophisticated but a good place to tame your hunger with potato. Small seating area.

Pretty good food and tasty, quick to get. I think the potatoes and other warm ingredients should have been much warmer. Also my partner had too much sour cream.
