Hotel Hoferwirt in Neustift

We chose Hoferwirt following a recommendation from friends who said it was their favorite place to stay during their ski trips, and they were right! This is our second year here, and everything is simply superlative. The location is excellent for skiing in an absolutely stunning area. The staff is very friendly, and the food is outstanding—you can tell the ingredients are carefully sourced from local producers. Breakfast is very rich, and the 4-course dinner plus dessert are both refined and delicious. We will most likely be back

I really enjoyed the fish at the hotel restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.

This weekend I went to dinner as a non-resident of Hoferwirt. It was recommended as the best town-centre restaurant by another renowned hotel in the area- and it exceeded expectations.

In particular the thoughtful and erudite sommelier. Once the waiter recognised we were interested to explore their excellent cave, the sommelier came over and gave us a brilliant tour d’horizon of Austrian wines and the nuances of Grüener Veltiner as it expresses itself in different local terroir.

Even more exuberant was the moment at the end of our dinner when the local football team piled in (hot off the slopes) and we got a great understanding of the schnapps culture - including from a lovely local guy who told us about the sheep he raises on the nearby hillside.

Stubai & Neustift is so different than the likes of Courchevel, and all the better for it !

We recently stayed at the Hoferwirt and had a lovely time. It’s a nice hotel well located in the middle of a small town, with easy bus access to the mountains and a few hiking trails nearby as well. The rooms have balconies with breathtaking views and were nice to unwind after the days skiing.

They have a good breakfast and an excellent 5 course dinner every night offered a variety of dishes which were all fantastic.

Whilst all the staff there and family owners were really nice, we’d specifically like to call out Hakim. Every time he saw us he’d greet us with a beaming smile and always made the effort to have a chat about our day, he really added to the positive experience we had there.

The Hoferwirt in Neustift is most definitely our happy place! We stay most years and are never disappointed. There have been a few changes this year which have been well thought through and executed. The food and wine at the excellent value (5 course! half board) dinner are absolutely terrific. The food continues to be a mix of traditional and quite inventive, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced produce. The food is also superb at their alm, Tschangelair Alm, right by the road running up the valley towards the glacier The hotel provides guests with the Stubai card which provides free access to a lot of the facilities in the valley including all the cable cars and the bus that runs up and down the valley and into Innsbruck. The hotel is in a great location, is very comfortable and is spotlessly clean. The family that run it and the alm are really lovely people who couldn't make guests feel more welcome, and the same applies to the entire team. We only got back this week, but already look forward very much to visiting again for a walking holiday next year.

This review is for the restaurant only - wow! We are so happy we selected their restaurant for our Easter dinner. The host and waitstaff were all lovely and took their time with us, despite it being a full and busy evening. The wine selection was excellent and the food really just exceeded expectations on all counts. Every dish was full of flavor and we really enjoyed the inclusion of seasonal ingredients. We can't wait to come back!

My wife Dianna and I along with our hiking friends Linda and Rob stayed at the Hoferwirt 4 weeks ago and we had a fabulous time. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, spotless and the entire hotel was nicely decorated throughout. The breakfast's very good but the 5 course dinners excellent.I love to eat, I consider it a sport thus I took pictures of every meal to remind me how fabulous the chef's creations were. Finally and most important it was the owners, their sons and staff that were all so cheerful, helpful and kind that made this hotel special.
