Hotel Astrid - Ski In & Ski Out in Saalbach

A great hotel for a ski holiday. The hotel is located right on piste 151, accessible via a staircase. It's a 5-minute walk from the town center, but it's uphill, so make sure you don't have to ski up there. The pool and sauna are clean, and the breakfast is excellent. The dinner menu is excellent, but Monday is a day of rest, including for the chef.

This is a fantastic hotel. We booked last minute when bad weather forced us to change our hiking plans. We are so glad we found Hotel Astrid!

The room, sauna, pool and relaxation area are all very cosy, welcoming and tasteful. We had the sauna and relaxation area to ourselves every time we used them! There are some really nice touches like ‘coffee and swim club’ each morning, and free tea in the relaxation room. The staff are all so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The location is great for the ski lifts and local buses, the hotel includes a summercard pass for all of these.

But the thing that really sets this hotel apart is the food! We ate there every evening because the meal we had on the first evening was so good we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat anywhere else. The food is outstanding in quality, quantity and presentation. Marlies looked after us in the restaurant each evening and is fantastic, a real asset to the hotel. Breakfast (served on a rooftop restaurant with a great view) was also incredible.

We stayed as a couple but the hotel was clearly very welcoming to families. There is also a great drying room for gear and bikes.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough! We will be back.

We stayed for 4 days at Hotel Astrid in June 2025 and had a truly memorable experience. The family who owns the hotel were incredibly friendly and kind – we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived.

Both breakfast and dinner were excellent: fresh, varied, and absolutely delicious. While I might have missed having a local steak on the menu, I really enjoyed the rest of the regional specialties.

The location is perfect – just a 2-minute walk to the lift and about 5 minutes to the village center, yet the surroundings remain quiet and peaceful.

We had a fantastic time and would definitely love to return.

Excellent Hotel súper well located and cozy, straight access to the slopes. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and familiar. Special mention to the restaurant, breakfast very good!

Best food in Saalbach for lunch. Kaiserschmaren, schnitzel etc all great. Well located and priced as well. Nice staff and quick service.

Absolute perfect food

Attached to the hotel is a ski hut/ restaurant beside a blue run. The food and hospitality was excellent.
