Hotel Fischer in St. Johann in Tirol

Excellent location in centre of town in pedestrian area. Clean n compact hotel with nice breakfasts and it's own cosy bar. Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. Great information reels on the televisions regarding the hotel, the area, transport links and weather.

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. The friendly, helpful staff make this hotel extra special. Delicious breakfast, something for everyone (coffee, latte, americanos all good!) and afternoon snacks a bonus after a day skiing. Rooms are very clean, Beds comfortable. We had a bath which was nice, hand wash and shower gel included. Overall a memorable stay we would definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and food was exceptional. The bar staff were amazing and couldn’t help you enough. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely return. Good location to all cafes and restaurants also. Little bit of a walk to the main gondola, but that was fine.

This was our 2nd stay at Hotel Fischer, once again the hotel and staff were absolutely fantasic! Always greeted with a smile and nothing to to much trouble for them. Thanks Hotel Fischer for another fantastic holiday!

We stayed here for a week of skiing. It is a lovely hotel and the staff are very welcoming. There is a hairdryer in the room and plenty of storage. Nice modernised bathroom (though sadly a shower rather than a bath). The breakfasts are lovely and include vegetarian and vegan options. Magrit is a wonderful host and real credit to the hotel, she is so warm and friendly and hard working every morning! We used the guest card to swim twice at Panorama Badewelt which was great, lovely warm outdoor pool and only ten minutes walk. We had dinner in the local restaurants. The afternoon snack in the hotel was nice, but sometimes it was meat soup so not always suitable for vegetarians. Our only other feedback was that our beds were very creaky! Perhaps that could be looked at. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again already.

The Fischer Hotel is a fantastic base, right in the centre of St Johann. Ideally situated near the slopes and to explore from. It’s exceptionally run, nothing is too much trouble, clean, good food and the staff always on hand to provide advice. The Apres ski ‘tea time’ hosted by Nathan & Sinead on the Thursday involving the various ski school classes and instructors brought everyone together. It’s a seamless holiday, collect the equipment adjacent the slopes and store it next door. Great holiday

Travelled here with Crystal Ski, chose the hotel as it was good value for money and had good reviews. Situated just off the main square, so very handy for shops, restaurants, cafes etc. Which there are plentiful. Some of the cafes do offer take out tea/coffee. The room we had was very spacious, with lots of storage, and a comfortable bed. Although we didn't have a refurbished room, it did look like the toilet/bathroom had been modernised. Liquid soap and shower gel included. Room came with a balcony. There is a large TV, only English channels as you would expect is the news. No fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. There is a safe, in order to use it a 20 euro deposit for the key is required, on return you receive 15 euros back. Rooms are cleaned every other day. Apart from the church bells ringing regularly starting at 6 am, it was a very quiet hotel, and even if you had the window open at night, also very quiet. Which is good considering you are very central. Communal areas were nice, modern and clean. Small seating area near the reception, decent size breakfast room, and a small bar with a nice atmosphere which opened later on in the day. It also served snacks, which was very handy as we arrived on the later flight. Good buffet breakfast, mainly continental style, with addition of boiled, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and those fabulous bread rolls. Between 3 and 5pm soup or toasties were on offer. There is a boot room in the basement with heated boot rack, but they do have an agreement with the Hotel Park to use their facilities, which is only a 2 min walk from base of slopes. So very useful, as the walk from the Fischer would take about 10 minutes. Not something you would want to do in ski boots. We did find opposite the Max Pub and close to the gondola, a ski rental shop which rented out heated lockers for a few euros a day. We were given a St Johann guest card which gave us free use of local transportation. The train station is about a 10 min walk away, very efficient service, and in 6 minutes you can be in Kitzbuhel. Sinead who checked us in was very helpful, as was all other members of staff. My partner skis, but I am a non skier, but this is certainly a big enough resort for me to walk about. Recommendations: The Post Bar, Jagglback, Zimm Dampfl, Sky lounge, 4th floor of Cubo hotel. and La Rustica.

The experience at the Fischer Hotel was excellent. From the moment we arrived, Michael, Monica and the entire staff made us feel so incredibly welcome. The rooms were recently remodelled and are very modern. The atmosphere in Michi's bar was excellent, and we enjoyed relaxing there after a day on the mountain or for a cocktail after dinner.

Very friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere. Great sauna facilities. Bar has a great atmosphere. Room was clean and tidy.
