excellent hotel, right under the ski slope, you can ski straight to the hotel, the cable car is 50 meters from the hotel, great pool, excellent food, very nice staff... nothing to complain about

Good ski in ski out location and also at the end of the no.71 skibus. We organized our own transfers (Bus 260 from Salzburg airport (2 hrs, 15 euros each), train IR723 back to Salzburg train station (1.5 hrs, free as you get a mobile travel pass in Salzburg for your stay)). Food excellent. Great international breakfast & high quality dinner. Impressed with the quality of service. Very friendly & efficient staff. Room was very continental, 2 soft pushed-together single beds and a bit basic, but clean as expected.

This was our second stay at VAYA Zell am See, and once again it couldn’t have been better. As a family who comes back to Schmittenhöhe every year for snowboarding trips, consistency really matters to us – and VAYA delivered again. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive. Reception were always friendly and helpful, and in the restaurant we were looked after wonderfully by Marius, who even remembered us from last year – such a lovely personal touch that made us feel very welcome. Our Grand Deluxe room with a front-facing balcony was modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The beds were excellent after long days on the mountain, and the shower was fantastic – exactly what you need after riding Panorama and the Schmittenhöhe slopes. Having your own table reserved for the whole stay is also a brilliant idea and makes dinners very relaxed. The ski lockers are great, and the location is perfect – just metres from the three lifts that take you straight to Panorama or up to the top of Schmittenhöhe. For snowboarders like us, that convenience is priceless. The only small suggestion would be to consider adding a simple children’s buffet. Our daughter is sometimes a bit fussy, and with only one plated option per day for kids it was occasionally hard to find something she liked. A small buffet with basics would make an already fantastic stay even better for families. Overall, we loved our stay again and will happily return next season. Thank you to the whole team at VAYA Zell am See for making our trips so memorable.

Our stay at Hotel Vaya Zell am See was truly enjoyable – beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts and dinners, and a very professional team. What made our stay truly exceptional was the remarkable kindness and human approach of the receptionist, who is also the hotel manager. Late in the evening, we urgently needed veterinary care, and she immediately helped us find an available emergency service and provided all necessary contacts. Her support during that stressful moment meant a great deal to us. Such empathy and personal dedication are rare. We sincerely appreciate her help and highly recommend Hotel Vaya Zell am See – not only for its quality, but especially for the people who make it special.

Hotel has a great location with quick access to 3 main ski lifts. The ski rental shop is beneath the hotel and provides convenient storage. The Restaurant, Bar, Snack Bar and Reception areas are lovely. However, the rooms are average for the price charged and could do with a timely refresh, namely: 1) The bedside locker had only one socket 2) The TV competed with the fridge for a socket 3) The TV was stand alone on the floor and was a health and safety issuer 4) The room phone was not connected (photos attached) 5) The room safe did not work 6) Rooms were only serviced if requested. The Hotel Bar does not open until 8.30pm which is poor. As the snack Bar closes at 4.30pm, you need to leave the hotel for an apres ski beer!!!

We Travelled as a family with our dog. Staff and facilities were excellent Foof and beverages were great the location is amazing All in all a perfect location with all that on would expect from a higher end resort .

Pool is freezing.. only suitable as a cold plunge pool after using the sauna.

However, the restaurant service and food was amazing! Very friendly waiters and bar staff.

Friendliness at reception has room for improvement.

A very beautiful view

Reception staff are not friendly and were defensive when expressing my concerns about our room soon after check in. They made no effort to make my stay any better. Room (117) was very dated with a badly stained sofa. The bathroom was unventilated with black mould on the ceiling and walls. The room was very warm with no A/C. We had to leave the window open all night. Very noisy room with banging noises coming from directly above until early hours of the morning. Bar closes during dinner hours. It is ski in/ski out for advanced skiers only (black/red slopes). Breakfast was average. Half board evening meals were okay if you liked what was listed on the menu. A bottle of tap water is €4.80. We ate out most nights as restaurants are much better in the town. Sauna was not working for most of the week and is very small. Steam room fits 2 x persons only.
