The only positives of this hotel are its location and spacious rooms. However, the food was an absolute disaster – they even served moldy rolls for breakfast. The menu was virtually identical every day, consisting of strange dishes made from mortadella or hot dogs. For lunch, it was broccoli; for dinner, broccoli soup... incredibly dull.

The pool's glory days are long gone, and frankly, nothing ever happens there. In a nearby building, the 'All-Inclusive' spread consisted of sad pizza slices, cold fries, and biscuits. Beside it, a tall, visibly unhappy bartender poured sickly sweet, artificial-tasting juices from a dispenser for drinks. Don't even bother trying to get service from this bartender at 10:45 PM, despite the bar supposedly closing at 11 PM. The bar used plastic cups, and ice was either scarce or completely absent. Cocktail umbrellas or cherries? Forget about it!

We requested a 4 AM wake-up call, which never came. But the absolute 'highlight' was the lunch box sandwiches: two slices of plain bread (no butter or spread), one proudly containing a single slice of mortadella, and the other, for variety, a single slice of yellow cheese.

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. It's baffling how little they care about their guests, especially given the stiff competition.

I booked a four-star hotel as a super last minute. The TripAdvisor rating is sufficient at first glance #75 of 252 on Sunny Beach. Only after paying did I start reading the reviews and start to worry. Upon arrival I find out that it's not such a horror. But you need to look at the hotel as a two and a half star, which is the real state. It definitely does not correspond to the four-star rating. The hotel is maintained in a declining condition. The furnishings are old, worn out. But the hotel it is clean. The food is in a narrow repetitive menu, the taste is average (not amazing, not offensive). The staff is normal (non-conflict). For the price of a super last minute, yes, but it definitely does not correspond to the full price.

I'd like to share my experience at the 'Mercury' Hotel, where I stayed with my two children and a friend in July 2025.

The room we were assigned was simply dreadful. It had torn curtains and what appeared to be bloodstains, making it seem as if a violent crime had occurred there before our arrival. Our room contained a double bed, a pull-out sofa, and an additional small folding bed. However, the sofa bed was broken, making it impossible to sleep on. When we asked the staff to change our room, we were told there were no available rooms. Consequently, for all seven nights, I had to share the double bed with my two children. My friend slept on the small folding bed. In the bathroom, the sink wouldn't drain, and the door wouldn't close properly. Hot water only appeared after two days. The air conditioning unit was ancient and barely functioned. Adding to the misery, it was on the sunny side, overlooking a bustling market. In summary, just the room we needed!

As for the food, I have some additional comments. Breakfast offerings were identical daily. Lunch and dinner provided slightly more variety. Ice cream was only served at set times. We didn't go hungry, but for the price, we certainly expected better. I have other experiences to compare this to. It's baffling how this hotel earned its 4-star rating.

Finally, the staff seemed unwilling to proactively resolve guests' problems.

The staff was polite. The rooms were reasonably clean. The food options were quite limited. The Russian music played in the snack bar was absolutely dreadful. Just so you know, Ukraine is at war with Russia!

Absolutely terrible. The dishes were dirty, and the beds broke on two separate occasions. The only upside was the decent bar and the friendly bartenders. The food wasn't good. Upon arrival, the lamp above the bed was already broken. The pool was filthy, full of rubbish and sand, and clearly hadn't been cleaned at all. Bed linen was changed only once during our 11-day stay, and towels were replaced just every 2-3 days. With no shower curtain in the bathroom, the floor was perpetually soaking wet. The faulty drain also meant a constant sewage smell filled the room.

I recently stayed at the Mercury Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, in July 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Despite the beautiful location, the service and hospitality at the hotel were severely lacking. Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the rudeness of the staff. They seemed to take every opportunity to yell at us and enforce arbitrary, unwritten rules. This behavior felt discriminatory and made our stay uncomfortable. The majority of the staff, except for one employee at the reception and another at the snack bar by the pool, treated us terribly. These two employees were the only ones who were friendly and could speak English at a conversational level. The rest of the staff displayed an alarming lack of professionalism and courtesy. Their inability to communicate effectively in English further compounded the issues, making it difficult to address our concerns or get any assistance. It was disheartening to be treated so poorly, and it marred our overall experience at the hotel. Additionally, the food at Mercury Hotel was a significant letdown. Meals appeared to be repurposed from previous days' leftovers, lacking freshness and quality. This approach to food service was not only unappetizing but also unsanitary. While the hotel's location in Sunny Beach is fantastic, the subpar service and poor treatment by the staff overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable vacation. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works towards improving their service and hospitality. Until then, I cannot recommend the Mercury Hotel to other travelers.

The worse holiday we ever had. Every single day we had to deal with super rude staff who was shouting at customers all the time. Every day there were new rules invented and when we tried to speak with the manager she kept on protecting staff. The guy at the swimming pool was shouting at us and throwing our sun beds around. When we talked to the manager about it the manager did not even apologise or asked the guy to apologise and the moment we mentioned about giving bad reviews she said that the property manager will not be happy with that and left without even resolving the problem. Food is terrible and staff super rude. From entire personnel only the girl from the swimming pool bar and the girl on the reception were nice to us. The rest were rasist telling us to go back to our country. I do not recommend at all.

We stayed in this hotel for a week. On the third day of rest, the bed linen was changed, but the towels were not changed. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom so all the water ended up on the floor. There was nothing to clean; the cleaning lady did not clean either the bathroom or the balcony, which was constantly dirty by the birds. The furniture is old and already broken. There is no Internet, or rather there is, but it is very very weak and impossible to use. The first two days there was delicious, varied food, but then it was as if the chef had changed and problems began with the food. The hotel administrator received the nickname "Cerberus", she always stood at the exit from the restaurant and checked that no one took away food (a peach, a piece of watermelon), and always forced them to leave it in the restaurant. The staff is not very polite, rather rude. The pool area is dirty, you can stay in the pool for up to 18 hours, then they kick you out. The animators were just for show and had no intention of working with children. They were most often found in a bar, chatting with the bartender. The children fished for at most one hour a day. They danced the same dance to the same music or played cards or colored books. Our child was given a piece of tile that had fallen off from the pool as a souvenir! I didn't like the hotel and the conditions at all. I don’t recommend it, especially now, when most of the hotel is filled with not very well-mannered Ukrainians.

Really poor this hotel. I traveled with my family for a holiday. Terrible , the pool isn't what I expected. The pool for child is like 90cm its really fine for a young child. But, the big pool, is 180cm depth. The water is really cold . The staff just speak bulgary and a little of english . The drinks are really ok. The food is really poor. At breakfast we have pancakes ,eggs, hot dogs cereals, tea, milk, coffee, bad butter, sweet bread, normal bread. For lunch, we have same drinks , fish, rice, a poor soup just with vegetables dessert they got a tons of sweet like cake but it's really sweet. Fruits, they got green melon, but it's called just melon. Isn't sweet. At dinner, we got same drink, smashed potato's, same dessert and fruits , soup . Also, a minus is you dont have water 😂. At bar you don't have water , at the restaurant you dont have. Let's talk about the interior. The ground floor is really ok, you got a large sofa, a TV and an A/C. About the elevator it's really poor. The interior overhung with plastic??? You dont have air in the elevator. About the camera, it's really bad. The bathroom it's big but is disgusting. Spiderman on the toilet you dont got any soap ... About the towels we got a dirty towel ... The bed is small for 2 persons. The sofa is a bed . The TV is ok if you want to watch . The A/C is a Mitsubishi. If you put on 16°C in like 3 minutes the room it will be a refrigerator. About the exterior you got 3 same ATM, an non-stop shop, if you are a Romanian guy, that guy knows Romanian . After review , for me, I will give a 2 stars. Peace from Romania.

Mostly average experience. Food was ok, but mainly the same every day. Staff was overall nice. But our last morning was horrible. Receptionist took our key and gate card, cut off our wristband and was overall very rude. That meant for us to just sit there over 8 hours to wait (no food or water) for the transfer to airport. We were informed that, we can be on hotel territory and leave our luggages to the luggage room. After that event, I felt like hostage and we could not leave and cone back to hotel territory by our own. We also saw cockroach in our room and many things that should be repaired. Loose tiles near swimming pool, broken chairs in restaurant. Definitely not 4 star hotel.
