Asteria Family Sunny Beach in Sunny Beach

We arrived at 23.00 to be told we couldn't have a drink ,bar closed at 23.00 . the room they gave us smelt really bad stale cigarette smoke and bugs on toilet roll. Had to change our room and the lift wasnt working so had to walk down the stairs with bags and cases , our 2nd room was huge clean and do able .the music was very loud from bar opposite which was an exotic dancers nigh club , music stopped at 5am every morning . Went down stairs and everywhere was pitch black no lights on any where bars closed. The restaurant was terrible food from the evening was in restaurant on lunchtime next day food was cold even chips . State of repair of hotel was bad all plastic drains around pool and walking to our C Block where we stayed where missing so you could fall into them fall hazard. Asked for toilet roll for public toilet to be told we would have to wait 2hrs . The safe deposit box was broken in our room and my bed was shredded along the side of mattress . Not 4* i would say 2* at the most . NO entertainment or animation team like stated in brochure and no water slide in pool . Total holiday from hell . TUI have offered me £135 in vouchers which I have declined as we paid over £1200 never will i return to Bulgaria sunnybeach .

Arrived at hotel in the small hours only to find the staff found it acceptable to put us on the third floor of a block with no lift when we had told them in advance we had a mobility scooter which was not being delivered until the following day. After eventually being given a room on the ground floor, we were awoken two hours later at 06.30 by the cleaners wanting to know if we wanted the room cleaned, and did we want any more toilet rolls! Obviously the cleaners knew what the food was like. The dining room is accessible by a small lift which is in a different building and just about accommodates a mobility scooter. None of the food is labelled, there is absolutely no consideration with allergens, and at best the food is luke warm, and tasteless. Like many others we ate out a lot - not what you expect to do on an all inclusive. Food is also available at the snackbar by the pool, but this was not replenished until it was almost empty. Some of the items we were given every morning at breakfast were chicken nuggets, chips and cold cauliflower, cold peas, cold sweetcorn and cold broccoli. We started calling this the Listeria Family Hotel. The animation staff were non existent and the only adult evening entertainment the first week was a guess the movie quiz where they played a clip of music and you had to guess the film. The second week we were forbidden from entering because it was the same quiz. Daytime animation might as well all been cancelled to the extent where I put a notice on their notice board advising all daytime animation was cancelled due to lack of interest by the staff. This did generate a bit of redponse for 48 hours. Admittedly we did go to this hotel at the end of the season, but this does not excuse the hotel closing at 3pm so the staff could have their party. whilst we were still. guests at the hotel. None of the staff ever looked happy and only Sonia on Reception seemed to be aware that it was holidaymakers who were keeping them in a job. Is this hotel disabled friendly? No. Is the food in the hotel good? No. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone else? No. The one positive about this hotel is its central location. At least it is easy to find somewhere else to eat

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any 1 the first room we were given was filthy they did move us but we then faced the exotic bar and didn’t sleep as the music was on until 5 am food was terrible and no entertainment until most of the guests around the pool complained

I'm sorry but there is no way this is a 4 star hotel. Food is just awful. Staff are miserable and don't talk no entertainment drinks are flat and like water. Worse holiday ever there is no atmosphere its as flat as a pancake. Food is under cooked still pink in the middle, chips are either greasy or dry and under cooked. In 7 days I hardly ate anything just toast at breakfast, we ate out like most ppl did, I would not feed the slop they served up to my pets. Staff don't understand what ur asking for and just stare at you Blankley more interested in texting and using there phones than serving guests. Cleaners just barge into your rooms when ur either showering or getting dressed and don't understand when you ask them to wait while ur getting dressed. Very very poor standards they clean the outside tables with a dirty mop that they have used to mop the floors with. Would I return here no on your life even if they paid me.

The hotel is very old, and the furniture was broken. The air conditioner was also not working. The food and drinks were not good at all. It makes no sense that this hotel has such high ratings online.

We had to check out the next morning because they couldn't repair the air conditioner and didn’t offer to change our room. We couldn’t imagine spending a second night there with our baby. He spent the entire night crying because it was too hot, and opening the windows wasn’t an option since it was very noisy outside.

Basically It's a tourism Trap.

ZERO cleanliness, ZERO hospitality, ZERO services. This hotel deserves 2 stars not 4. Big mess in the room, we got a dirty junior suite, full of dust on the floor, crumbs, leftover food, dirty linen, hairs everywhere. The bathroom was not cleaned. The food is of poor quality, what is not eaten at lunch is reinterpreted at dinner. The cold cuts and cheeses at breakfast are old, after cutting the corners the cold cuts have changed color, a sign that they have been cut for a long time. I will make an extensive description with the photos on all the Romanian Facebook pages where hotels in Bulgaria are searched. The reception staff is very mean, they speak badly, they do not help you in any way, they look down on you and answer in disgust. The manager with glasses t minutes in front, full of arrogance. I think I threw my money away by staying at this hotel, it's a shame for the Bulgarian hotel market.
