Family Hotel Saint George in Sofia

The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained. The carpet was dirty, and both the bed and sofa had an unpleasant odor, clearly not cleaned after the previous guests. To make matters worse, the receptionist appeared intoxicated and was unable to communicate properly and kept arguing for no reason . There are no elevators, adding further inconvenience. Overall, a very disappointing experience—I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

-in the room only the bed and most of the carpet was clean; otherwise plenty of dust and mold all around.
-resturant food was bad, small portions and badly executed and lacking proper taste.

I'll start by saying that I don't usually write negative reviews—I avoid them—but I wanted to contribute to the TripAdvisor community to prevent other travelers from making the same mistake. The property is well-maintained and surrounded by greenery, but the road leading to it isn't the best; in fact, it's quite bumpy. When we checked in, we weren't given much information, especially not about when breakfast was served, which we paid for separately. The property doesn't have an elevator. The room is small but adequately sized, but the bathroom needs a complete overhaul: there's neither a shower tray nor a shower stall, and it's completely attached to the toilet. Showering is inconvenient because you risk flooding the bathroom. Upon entering our room, we realized that at least one towel was missing, and we requested one from reception. The next morning, we showed up for breakfast at 8:30, and were greeted by a lady who didn't understand a word of English and spoke only Bulgarian. Eventually, we realized there was no buffet, only four dishes to order, three savory and one sweet. The one we'd ordered wasn't available. There were no fruit juices, no tea, just coffee, so we went somewhere else for breakfast. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, we noticed that the room hadn't been made up—nothing to complain about, of course—but at least we checked the towels and toilet paper. Tired of having to ask without being understood, we used tissues! We decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, having made a reservation the day before. There was no reserved table, so we waited half an hour before being seated, another half an hour before ordering (the menu was only in Bulgarian, thank goodness for Google!), and 40 minutes before eating. The food wasn't bad at all...hallelujah! The next morning, the same story for breakfast, and we left again. Luckily, it was the day of check-out. It's a shame, because the property isn't bad, except for the bathroom, but the organization is terrible. You can't leave a woman alone at the reception who doesn't speak a word of English. P.S. The 9.1 rating is from 2015.

Disappointed, only the forest was n8ce . Small room, very hot, no air-conditioning,poor pillows, towels only one per person?!, very old , damaged, and size for face, not for shower 😑.
The bathroom is extremely small with a damaged sink !
Breakfast was nice, but the time to someone take the order was too long. The employees were separate stories far a way to say polite or friendly !
