Facilities: Very modern, with touchscreen features.
Service: The young man at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is also super convenient for transportation, and major attractions like the Forbidden City, Shichahai, and Nanluoguxiang are all nearby. I'd definitely stay here again next time. The service was excellent!
Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at in China, it was the only one where the staff were prepared with a translator app on their phone.
If you need extra bottled water, you can just grab it from the front desk.
Around 4 minute walk to exit G of Gulou street station, so it's very convenient.
If you don't like the smell of smoke, get a room near the back of the hotel as the smell can waft in from somewhere.
Be sure not to turn the sink faucet on middle to full blast as water will splash out onto the floor or bed.
They were renovating several rooms so they're maintaining the hotel, which was great to see. We left the hotel sometimes as late as 9am and we could not hear any noise from the renovations.
However, certain infrastructural deficiencies warrant attention. Specifically, the shower screen's design appears inadequate to contain water effectively, resulting in significant spillage and subsequent flooding of the toilet area. This issue necessitated an extended drying period, causing considerable inconvenience.
The only problem we had was the noise, the first night we were dead tired and people in the corridor were talking very loudly screaming and calling each other. At 6am it was the same, customers checkin out were very rude and talking very loudly in front of the room. The walls are very thin. Then we had a kid running in the corridor.
The last days at the hotel were nice because it was finally silent. The cleaning ladies were also very polite, the room is very clean and lot of things to do nearby.
The hotel should put signs or ask customers to be careful about the noise.
