I chose this hotel because of an early flight the next day, and it's super convenient for both the airport and the high-speed rail station. Especially Hongqiao High-Speed Rail Station, which is within walking distance. The hotel meets 5-star standards, with clean, tidy, and luxurious decor, and a lot of international guests. Plus, the price I booked included afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast for two adults and one child, which was excellent value for money. There are many large shopping malls around the hotel, so after dinner, you can take a stroll, enjoy the streetscapes, and soak in the atmosphere of Shanghai, the 'Magic City'.

As a business traveller, i want to ensure to have a good night sleep, a good in-room working experience and good relax moments when I finish a day's work, but this Crown Plaza failed all.
The owner and IHG seems to have neglected the fundamental needs if there was a tight budget as the needs are suppose to be the priority. ie. Its preferred to have good aircon system that is guest controllable, sufficient light at working desk, large TV and full black out curtain treatment instead of marble floor, fancy bathroom material, fabric TV wall, felt minibar drawer compartment which are only good if the fundamental needs are fulfilled.
So I spent a day and night in a room that is hot, light leakage curtain, small and improportion armchair, dark at working desk etc, the worst was being put in a Hollywood king room with 2 twin beds put together making it extremely big and became so far apart from the bedside tables which was very inconvenient. What i liked was a spacious bathroom and nice.
I cannot be bothered to change rooms or complain so i just lived with it, but probably a good reason of not another Crown Plaza in the future.

I chose this hotel because I had an early high-speed train to catch the next morning. It's very close to Hongqiao Hub, only a 15-20 minute walk to the high-speed rail station, which is super convenient! However, Hongqiao Hub is quite large, and if you don't know your way beforehand, you might work up a sweat trying to find your gate. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel, and the streets are vibrant and colorful at night, very pretty and clean. The front desk staff and the gentlemen at the concierge were very polite. They enthusiastically assisted me with storing my luggage for two days. All in all, it was a good experience! I'll definitely stay here again next time I have an early high-speed train.

During the Spring Festival, the hotel lobby was decorated very festively, with many photo-friendly elements. The king-size room was spacious enough for two adults and one child to sleep comfortably, no problem at all.
Upon arrival, it felt like a bit of a walk from the subway station to the hotel. However, when checking out, I asked the front desk and they provided a map. Following their directions, I realized it's actually only about a 10-minute walk, which is very convenient.

I've traveled far and wide, but this is the first time I've encountered such a perfect hotel.
The location is excellent, very close to both the airport and the train station, easily reachable on foot.
Ambiance: As an InterContinental hotel, the lobby is grand and elegant, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Dining: They practically covered three meals a day, all included in the room rate. The breakfast buffet, the 2:30 PM afternoon tea buffet, and the dinner buffet in the evening required no extra payment. And the quality was absolutely superb. A wide variety of Western and Chinese dishes, desserts, and fruits – absolutely delightful.
What's more, the hotel was incredibly fair and didn't raise its prices during the Chinese New Year holiday. If I go to Shanghai again, I will definitely choose this hotel.

Hygiene: Good, the cleaning staff are very diligent and responsible.
Environment: It's near Hongqiao Tiandi, so dining and shopping are quite convenient.
