The hotel environment was nice, and the Cantonese dim sum was quite good; the all-you-can-eat option at 158 yuan per person was a good deal. There were also hot springs and many other fun activities. I tried the singing bowl game, highly recommended! Also, the hotel staff member, Xiao Zheng, was very friendly; he called ahead to inquire about my room requirements and even brought me a latex pillow.

Extremely satisfied with my stay! I got a free upgrade to a suite on the 24th floor, and there were welcome fruits too. The room layout was well-designed, the temperature was comfortable, and the large bathtub was perfect for a relaxing soak.

The Crowne Plaza Chengdu Wenjiang Hot Spring is such a great deal! The location is convenient, whether you're taking the subway or driving. The front desk staff were warm and efficient, making check-in incredibly smooth.

The natural hot springs are definitely the highlight, with over 40 unique pools to choose from. After a soak, you feel completely refreshed. The rooms are spacious and tidy, with soft bedding and excellent soundproofing. You can even enjoy river views in the morning.

The buffet breakfast offers a full range of Western and Chinese options, and the freshly prepared noodles are especially delicious.

The staff were attentive throughout our stay. This hotel is perfect for both couples on a getaway and families traveling together. Highly recommended!

I absolutely fell in love with Holiday Inn Express China during this trip!

My IHG Platinum status made the purchase incredibly worthwhile.

I booked a standard room, but a stay at Holiday Inn Express upgraded me to a higher room.

I originally booked two nights, but I was so satisfied with the upgraded suite with a living room, a separate dressing room, and an L-shaped desk that I immediately booked two more nights.

On my first night, I smelled cigarette smoke coming from another room. The next day, I asked the front desk to remove any future smokers from my room (I was very grateful for their respect for my needs and their assistance).

I really enjoy hot springs, and both hotels and Shule Hot Spring share a bath, allowing you to soak throughout the entire area. The baths are spacious and numerous, making for a wonderful experience.

The Holiday Inn Express staff are numerous and remember me.

They smile when we meet and make eye contact, waiting to see if I need any assistance.

I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip.

Service gave wrong information regarding already booked / included spa services - complimentary fruit basked only arrived after complaints

A singular butler robot is taking care of all the food deliveries for a huge hotel with 6 elevators. After the food arrived in the hotel lobby, it took from 30 minutes up to 3 hours to get delivered to the room.

Why don’t they send a person to deliver food? Or at least call the room to inform that food was brought, so we could have picked it up ourselves?

I am severely disappointed with the level of service for a 5 star hotel.

We chose this hotel because it is the nicest hotel near where my family lived. Normally we expect a 5-star hotel to have competent English speakers, decent in-room dining options, concierge service, and more. The rooms were nice enough and very spacious, but the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced.

1. If you order food delivery from outside the hotel, instead of having a robot or person bring it to your door like in every single other hotel (even 3-star ones in China), they require the delivery rider to place it in the ******* lockers OUTSIDE of the hotel, which is quite a far walk from the rooms given the size of the building. When pressed on the reason why this is the case, they insisted it was due to "food safety" reasons. Apparently literally every other hotel in China doesn't have problems with "food safety".

2. The room service is awful. Given they refuse to bring any food delivery to your door, one would expect that the in-room dining experience would be good. In fact, it is once again some of the worst room service we have ever had. Despite there being multiple nice restaurants in the Hotel, none of them are allowed to send food up to the rooms. The room service menu is limited to a pathetic selection of 6 menu items. Even this awful selection is not always in stock, and there was one instance where they only had a single menu item. Not to mention it tastes bad and is expensive. A single dish costs close to 70RMB!

3. Barely anyone in this hotel speaks English. That was fine for me since I speak fluent Chinese, but my partner cannot. Multiple times when we had issues, they promised they would send someone up who spoke English. For example, my partner had to order room service themselves and they were redirected across 4 different people, NONE of whom could speak English. I then called from outside the hotel asking them what the problem was, and they promised they would send someone up who spoke English, then proceeded to send someone who spoke NO english!

Taking into account the price, mediocre location, and above all abysmal service, save your money and book somewhere else. JW Marriott is the same price and doesn't have these problems, and I assume the same for other luxury hotels in Chengdu.
