Hotel International by Maistra City Vibes in Zagreb

Central hotel with good service (reception) and good breakfast. However the diner is subpar. I visited in mid January and apparently all rooms were set at 26C without ability to adjust. The only way of adjusting was to open the window - where you have 50% chance facing a autorecond/powerwashing service between 6-23. Rooms are clean and nice though.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. First of all, I strongly do not recommend purchasing the breakfast. You can have much better breakfasts in the city for the same price. The breakfast buffet is very misleading — everything looks nice at first glance, but almost all hot items were cold, except for the scrambled eggs. The rest (potato croquettes, strudel, sausages) were cold and greasy. The bread was stale.

I honestly wonder if any hotel staff has ever tried the waffles they serve — they were so hard that we couldn’t even cut them with a knife. The waiter saw us struggling and couldn’t cut them either. The bananas were also overripe and had turned black from sitting too long.

As for the rooms, the walls are extremely thin. It feels like you’re staying in the same room as your neighbors, and every sound from the corridor comes straight into the room. The parking cards do not work properly; to exit the parking garage, a staff member has to see you on camera and manually open the gate.

The only positive things I can say are that the hotel is very close to public transportation and the rooms were clean.
