We arrived at the hotel during a thunderstorm. It may have been luck, because water was coming through the ceiling of the apartment's bathroom. The apartment smelled a bit musty especially in the bedroom. We had asked for a quiet room (family 2), but it was opposite the loud pool fans. This was another reason to change rooms. After a couple of hours, we got a new room, which was better located on the ground floor and above all: it also smelled fresher. So it's worth avoiding the rooms on the top floor, the roof can leak when it rains. The rooms are cleaned less often in the winter season, we had to ask for clean hand towels and toilet paper. In any case, everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Those working at the reception were very nice and approachable. We had booked breakfast for the whole of our holiday, but its quality varied and if you went late, for example, the filter coffee might have run out. Otherwise, the restaurant is very minimalist, and even at such a quiet holiday time, you got the feeling that the staff wanted the guests out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. We went there once for dinner, but I can't recommend it, because the food was cold and expensive compared to what was on offer. And again, we had the feeling that the staff wanted us to vacate our table as quickly as possible. The hotel is well located, approx 5 kilometers from the center of Ayia Napa and close to the lovely Nissi beach. Some hotel rooms are closer to the main road and maybe there you get more road noise. The seafront is close by, paths are clean - at least before the main season. At the beginning of March, there are only limited services, because restaurants and shops are just getting ready for the summer season. Finding suitable places to eat in the evenings was a bit of a headache. The apartment's kitchen has basic cooking supplies, we only made tea/coffee ourselves! It is also difficult to find decent grocery stores without a rental car. The price level on the island is quite expensive. Personally, I don´t think I would like this particular resort/location in the peak season. For families and active holiday makers it´s probably very suitable.

As all the other times I have visited this hotel it is difficult to find something to complain about. The room is well spaced and the area is really nice At this stay we asked in advance to keep the room for one hour, to check out at 12 This was not possible due to the room should be cleaned to the next arrivals. Short time after our flight was cancelled, and we asked if they had a room for us. Luckily we could keep the same room, despite we couldn’t keep it for one hour short time before. To ensure we didn’t misunderstand that we could keep the room we asked again next morning, and was again met by a bad attitude from the same receptionist. She need to be teach by her supervisor/ other colleagues how to manner.

On day two of my stay, I carefully arranged my belongings (including my camera and computer) on the bed, put up a “Do Not Disturb” sign, and verbally told the cleaners not to enter my room. When I returned later, the cleaner had entered my room anyway, moved everything on my bed — including my expensive equipment — and touched my personal items. It felt extremely intrusive, as if someone had been searching for valuables. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to enter, especially since towels and cleaning were only supposed to happen every five days.

I called the travel agency, and they said they’d speak with reception and make sure it didn’t happen again.

Less than six days later, I was sitting on my balcony (half dressed, with the “Do Not Disturb” sign clearly displayed) when a woman walked into my apartment unannounced and loudly announced she was there to clean. I have never encountered such disrespectful staff and management.

I called the travel agency again — they could not explain why it happened a second time. I was forced to pack up and move to a completely different room, as the cleaners clearly did not respect simple instructions.

The reception staff were rude, often blaming me as the guest for the issues they caused.

After moving to a new room, I received a message from the travel agency apologizing and offering a €50 voucher as compensation. I declined — this does nothing to restore my sense of safety or undo the stress this situation caused.

Do not come here! Don’t waste your hard‑earned money or vacation days on this place. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend anyone ever set foot here.

We were assigned a room that was leaking water in the roof in the ceiling, 😔 so we had to change rooms our neighbor also had the change rooms because they had mould in their room. When we checked in there was no soap or shower gel in the shower. The reception is very rude they point the finger at you saying you're very difficult when in fact they're the one not delivering what your paid for. Will not come back here and I don't recommend anyone else coming here either, this ruined our vacation.

It didn't feel like a vacation at all, when you're eating dining the waitress come around 50 times are you done are you done can I take your plate? You feel so rushed like they don't want you there. Upon check in the soap dispenser was empty. There are stray cats everywhere. Don't seem hygienic to me. For the amount of money you do not receive the quality that should be there. Unfortunately the people working there don't seem to be professional because the cleaners walked in on me even though I had the don't disturb sign on my door which is quite embarrassing.

We stayed twice at the resort, and both times the apartment was perfect – modern design, very clean, and serviced daily. The kitchen was well equipped, allowing us to prepare our own breakfasts and meals. The air-conditioning worked very well, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the balcony offered a nice view of the pool. The resort has plenty of pools – private and shared, for relaxation or fun – so you can choose what suits you best. The gardens are beautiful, and the food in the restaurants is tasty. There is also a gym and padel courts available for those who want to stay active during their stay. The location was excellent – close to the picturesque beaches of Ayia Napa and surrounded by stunning restaurants and cafés. The staff was extremely helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a fantastic place to relax after a busy working period.

Very nice rooms and area, everything you need. Reception not top, not so friendly. The pool area is crowded with people but the sunbeds and towels are free. Nice gym but keep away from Sandy Bay Beach, it's not nice. Take a 15 min walk to Nissi beach instead

I had a truly lovely stay at Sunwing Sandy Bay Beach.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always with a smile and ready to assist with anything we needed.
The food was delicious – varied, fresh, and well-prepared, with plenty of options for both adults and children.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just a short walk to the beautiful beach and close to Ayia Napa town, but still quiet and relaxing.
We also really appreciated all the facilities available – pools, kids’ activities, the gym, and evening entertainment – everything was well organized and family-friendly.

I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return!
