Pyramid Edge Hotel & Exclusive Pyramids View Rooftop in Cairo

Not the nicest hotel but you can’t beat the location. Breakfast seems to be served once and not replenished even if it is mostly all taken.

There was someone else's hair on the bed linen when we checked in.
It was gone by breakfast at 9 a.m. (The photo is what we managed to find).
The view from the room was of ruins.
But the view from the hotel rooftop is good.

Title: Great Pyramid view, but be aware of hidden charges and pushy tips.
Pros:
• Friendly Staff: A senior security guard was very helpful and assisted us with an early check-in at 8 AM. Also, the two male staff members working on the rooftop were the kindest people in the hotel.
• Hot Water: It takes a while to heat up, but once it starts, it works well.
Cons:
• Unreasonable Fee Request: We initially did an early check-in in a lower-category room because our reserved room was full. When we asked to move to our original room at 1 PM, the front desk suddenly demanded $50. After a 10-minute argument, we didn't pay, but it was very unpleasant.
• Poor Maintenance: The window wouldn't lock, so I had to fix it myself to ensure our safety (fearing they would ask for more money if I called maintenance).
• Bathroom Issues: Very low water pressure. There is no handheld showerhead, only a rain shower from the ceiling.
• Extreme Tipping Pressure: A young boy hanging around the hotel followed us into the elevator and all the way to our room door, gesturing and demanding tips very aggressively.
Overall: While the view and a few kind staff members were nice, the unprofessional behavior at the front desk and the constant pressure for tips made our stay uncomfortable.

• 직원 서비스: 도착 당일 오전 8시경, 연세 있으신 보안 요원분께서 정말 친절하게 얼리 체크인을 도와주셨습니다. 또한 루프탑에서 근무하는 남자 직원 두 분이 이 호텔에서 가장 친절하고 착했습니다.
• 온수: 뜨거운 물이 나오기까지 시간은 좀 걸리지만, 한 번 나오면 잘 나옵니다.
[단점 및 주의사항]
• 부당한 추가 비용 요구: 예약한 방이 꽉 차서 한 단계 낮은 방으로 얼리 체크인을 했습니다. 오후 1시경 원래 예약한 방으로 변경을 요청하자 카운터에서 갑자기 50달러를 요구했습니다. 10분간의 실랑이 끝에 지불하지는 않았지만 매우 불쾌했습니다.
• 시설 불량: 객실 창문이 잠기지 않아 보안 문제로 제가 직접 수리했습니다. 사람을 부르면 또 돈을 요구할까 봐 직접 고쳤네요.
• 욕실 상태: 수압이 매우 약합니다. 샤워기 헤드가 따로 없고 천장에서 떨어지는 해바라기 수전만 있어 불편합니다.
• 과도한 팁 요구: 호텔에 상주하는 어린아이가 엘리베이터부터 객실 앞까지 끈질기게 따라오며 노골적으로 팁을 요구합니다. 매우 부담스럽습니다.
총평: 피라미드 전망과 몇몇 친절한 직원들 덕분에 최악은 면했지만, 카운터의 무리한 돈 요구와 팁 문화 때문에 다시 방문하고 싶지는 않습니다.

First time in Egypt and we stayed in room 503 the Executive Suite Panoramic Pyramids View & Jacuzzi. I have done a more detailed review on Trip adviser.
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of Oct 2025. I've given it 3 stars because there seemed to be more cons than pros.
Pros
- The hotel was pretty clean
- If you were going to stay here, book this room.
- The room seemed to be the one furthest away from the outside noise
- This hotel seemed to be one of the best ones around the area when it comes to noise and location.
- The staff were fine and always provided us with extra toiletries if needed.
- I gave the room an overall 4 star only because of how bad the outside was and this was the only place you could feel relaxed.
- Location is 2 stars just because of how close it is to the pyramids, but the outside wasn't good.
- I gave the service 4 stars (would have been 3), but the receptionist at the time of check in did take our suitcases up 1 flight of stairs as the lift only goes up to the 4th floor.

Cons
- The room isn't very private. If you're a woman, bring a little top/bikini set, or just close the curtains (but that defeats the object of having the view). Men should be OK but maybe a pair of shorts?. The hotel across the view is really close so make sure you're ok with people potentially looking at you.
- The shower has a massive open window, so if you're on the toilet or taking a shower, everyone can see you, so bear that in mind.
- Not all the pictures advertised on the website are true. Most of them are, but i noticed the bath tub for room 503 is a double jacuzzi when it's not. The rest seem to be correct.
- The breakfast was very poor & minimal. You don't get a choice of anything, just what you are given and we found the food to be dry like it's been left out. Save on a few pennies and don't book the breakfast and bring your own food over. We were lucky that we brought breakfast bars with us, otherwise we'd be without food (especially due to the lack of shops for decent food isn't around).
- We didn't go for dinner here due to the above point and also we saw/heard a lot of rats, so it was a little off putting, because where we heard them running around, it was close to where they get the food from.
- As you're on the top floor, the rats (like other reviews have mentioned) do run across the ceiling.
- Again, as other reviews mention, the umbrellas on the opposite side of the hotel when looking out at the view just spoil it.
- There was one night where someone tried to get into our room, so we were a bit wary about that. The hotel isn't fully locked so anyone could get into reception, go up the stairs/lift and try any room. There isn't always someone at the front desk monitoring it all. So make sure you lock your room at all times.
- The bath/jacuzzi took a long time to fill so bear that in mind.
- Wifi kept dropping which was annoying as, due to the location of the hotel, we didn't want to leave so had to stay in.
- Minor but there wasn't a lot of plug points so either bring an extension cable or multi plug.
