The park is simple but nice and on walking distance from the centre of Ivalo. The owners are happy to answer all your questions. We booked their husky-, snowmobile- and aurora safari

It's about a 30 minute walk into Ivalo village where there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat lunch. Dinner though is best eaten in the restaurant at the holiday centre. Especially if you like Reindeer stew

On the road, the owner has already some nice facts about the neighbourhood. We are very grateful for our beautiful Lapland winter-experience and want to come back in summer someday!

We were there in wintertime and it was amazing. The houses are very cute and clean. It is nice that you have your own doorstep. We had a nice tiny house experience

Husky and snowmobile were amazing! But the aurora safari was very unprofessional and way to expensive. Private airport transportation is recommended

I highly recommend the dog sledding and the cross country skiing, and if the sky is clear it's a great spot to see the northern lights

Cosy clean cottages. Nice beach nearby. The service lady was quite nice, she offered us a change of cottage on the top of the hill because our car couldn't go downhill due to heavy snow.

The advertising was a bit misleading, because the cottage did not have a sea view or its own beach, but the cottage village had a shared beach within walking distance. The cabin was clean, a basic cabin

Ok cottages. Good pots, but the frying pan was way too small. All the knives were dull, a sharpener would do wonders. Location is good, a short walk from the restaurant Terho.

Beautiful cottages on the outside. However, during our visit there was a lot of commotion in one of the cabins until late at night. The cleaning was done poorly in the cottage

There were empty bottles in the corners, the toilet was untidy, etc

You could walk to the nearby Ruukki area, which was great

There is a lovely walking trail from Elsanranta to the main building through a historical watermill area with small rapids. You may also use free bikes or a rowing boat when you go from Elsanranta to the main building

So you find editions of the Kalevala both in Finnish and in English in the villas of Elsanranta. Besides, these double villas are named after the Kalevala: Vellamo, Louhi, Ilmarinen, Aino and Väinämöinen

Every villa has a large bedroom, a bathroom, an own electric sauna (Harvia Instant Heat Sauna Stove) and a large terrace. You have lake view both from the bed, from the terrace and even from the sauna

You also find a Jura coffee machine with coffee beans from a rewarded small coffee roastery named Lehmus, a B&O speaker (a Bluetooth speaker), a Samsung Smart TV, a mini bar, a hairdryer, a garment steamer, a flower vase and two large umbrellas in every villa

The nearest other cottages are located 300 meters from Elsanranta and the distance to the main building (the reception, the breakfast room, Cafe Elsa and Restaurant Koskivahti) is about 400 meters

Sometimes it is possible to see Saimaa ringed seals from these villas (there are binoculars in all villas) and sometimes but rarely it may be possible to swim quite near these beautiful animals

A very beautiful location and with the amazing weather! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding party. The food was AMAZING so good all the guests had to have a short moment to catch their breath before partying on.

the mosquitoes Ard the same as. I have seen them drain a cariboo or moose dry. Oh don't be shocked if you see moose or elk plus plenty of deer around. I imagine wolves and bear never saw any

gorgeous setting the lake right there is never asked if you could fish but saw a couple snapping at the water. like Alaska or Northern Canada no proper night just a couple hours of twilight

We are staying at this place for the second time. We and our friends love it here. An excellent, secluded place with magnificent nature and a comfortable home with all amenities. We visit for the second time in August

Gathering mushrooms, berries, fishing. A good bath, steamed every day and swam in the cleanest lake. This year the water was very warm for these latitudes, warming up to 21-22 degrees

The farm setting is complete with donkeys, llamas, horses, chickens and friendly barn cats and dogs. It's a wonderful place to kick back and relax or volunteer to help Heikki with chores around the farm

We enjoyed having a tasty breakfast with warm homemade buns and other local products, staying in a traditional summer house (good sleep as no sunlight, sounds and heat getting inside)

There are many places where you can enjoy the Finnish countryside, but this is one place where the idilic riverside country views are partnered with cozy accommodations and the gracious hospitality of Outi and Heikki Tukkila

Clean apartment and no unnecessary crunches like this during Korona. I was overnight and the friendly host brought breakfast and payment was easy to complete

Porvoo is an easy drive or grab a canoe to float down the river to town. I highly recommend making this your home base for your stay in southern Finland

Best day of my life!! The owners were super super nice, walking with the donkeys was amazing and the savusauna with dock on the river was too notch!

Beautiful rustic area with modern amenities, plenty of different activities and a long history. We haven't stayed overnight, but have visited this area many times.

Only thing I missed was WI-FI which is not available in apartments, only hotel rooms and lobby. Hotel is otherwise very nice, easy access to public sauna and pool. The food is great, especially impressed over breakfast

The sauna and pool are a great addition, with the sauna operating from 4pm (I seem to remember) and the pool chilly but invigorating. The restaurant buffet was decent at €35 with plenty of options

Location is great. Right next to a lake and the lake will be frozen in winter so you can see the aurora on the lake.

Finland is such a beautiful country in the snow, I loved seeing all the local houses decorated for Christmas. The locals are very friendly too. The huskies were are favourite I’d do it all again in a heartbeat :)

Yes it’s mostly a trip to take your young ones to see Santa but as an only adult couple, I adored it! We stayed in a bungalow over the road and it was very warm and equipped with everything you needed

Staff and Tui staff at the hotel were amazing. All trips were well organised and great. The coldest we had it was -28 but with the correct layers and clothing provided I didn’t feel it

The White fish is very fresh and delicious. Salmon soup and reindeer soup are a must try. The fries and sausage was surprisingly good too

When entering Kaamasen Kievari, it's a home coming. The lady of the house is amazingly friendly and willing to go the extra mile for you. The cottages are very clean and cosy, no TV though, but who cares

Spent Saturday night here. The live band was Peer Gynth, a great performance on the outdoor stage. The evening was moderately warm for mid-August. A nice drink from the bar and a good feeling left the evening.

This is already the first time (summer) I have been here in Reisjärvi for the night. That's going to be a disadvantage, it's not a pier or a morning ball. By the way, everything is quite a bit (or how to write it?)

Hotel located in Reisjärvi on the shore of the lake. The hotel has a restaurant, where you can get pizza and hamburgers, for example. Terrace that opens onto the lake

Rooms are really spacious and renovated, with a balcony/terrace. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, TV. Breakfast is not included in the room price

I had lunch at the standing table for €12.90. Special thanks for the varied and fresh salad bar 👍

Location is amazing, in the forest, far from other. We've got an opening in the ice with comfty ladder steps and an ice saw to keep it open. Wood heaten sauna was perfect. Temperature inside was perfect

Private snowscooter tour, husky safary, snow shoeing in the area and a fishing trip with the host (after which we had a diner with our own fresh fish). It was better than we could have ever imagined

My girlfriend and I had our best holiday ever here. The cottages are very private and authentik straight at the lake. The hosts are super friendly and the food is absolutely amazing

While booking one should be aware. But you can t find a nicer spot to stay. Breathtaking nature surrounds the property. Very lonely place where you can just be for yourself

The cottages have great view, are very well equipped and comfortable to live for longer periods. Also Marjo's cooking and baking is amazing so be sure to pre-book dinner!

The location of the cottages is just fantastic! The cottages are in the forest. It is very close to the lake. The host provides boats without additional charge. Every cottage has a grill and charcoal.

My first ever holiday experience in Finland, any it was so relaxing and calm, just what my family and I needed. Kids had an interesting program planned, they made friends pretty fast, and were always busy

Bar closes at 21:00?!?!?! Service: Reception staffs are helpful and cheerful, especially the younger boy, who always greets with great smile. You can rent swimming wears and ping pong racks from reception

Corridors is convenient, lots of public WC can be found on the way. Reading or chill out corners everywhere with great garden view. Sauna is ok, shower and shampoo are branded: Rituals

Good breakfast, great views to the lakeside. Well furnished and maintained rooms, quiet. Just be careful if it's hot weather, there is no a/c like many places in Finland. Besides that, great place with very good price

Nice and calm hotel just 5min away from Posio center. Clear instructions given by the hosts, who by the way were adorable. Our room was perfect for one night stay for 4 with two single beds and one double bed

You can have breakfast for 14€ and Sauna is at 25€ per room. If coming from Kuusamo to Rovaniemi I recommend staying there

A nice small hotel in the beautiful countryside. Good customer service, good food, sauna and bath is relaxing. Rent a bike or kayak for the day to go explore.

Very clean little hotel with a private beach and rather scenic surroundings. It has air cooling system in the rooms too which is great for the summer heat

Very athmospheric old farmhouse turned into hotel. The owner Mikael welcomed us warmly to his family estate. Room was in immaculate condition and comfortable. I'd come back to fish and sauna, perhaps even in this order.

The only thing is the walls are quite thin so you hear conversations and sounds from adjacent rooms. Also do bring your own toiletries
