Reviews
From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm and genuine welcome from Louis at the reception. He personally escorted us to our room and clearly explained all the facilities, which immediately made us feel comfortable.
Breakfast the next morning was lovely — a simple and authentic French breakfast, well prepared and enjoyable.
What truly made this place special for us was learning about its history. Louis kindly shared how this hotel has been run by the same family for generations, starting from his great-grandfather, then his grandmother, and now continuing through the family. You can genuinely feel those family values and warmth here — something that is rare today.
While it may not compete with large corporate hotels in terms of modern luxury, it offers something far more meaningful: authenticity, care, and a true family atmosphere. That made our stay emotionally special and memorable.
The location is also convenient and peaceful. Overall, a very pleasant experience with real hospitality. We would happily recommend this place to anyone who values warmth, history, and genuine service.
CONS: Although there was a breakfast option (self paid) it is limited to a single croissant per person and several other slices of dry bread. One glass of orange juice, coffee/tea/hot chocolate option, limited cereal and plain yogurt options available, one type of fruit (mandarins in our case). No additional croissants given as they only order for the amount of guests signed to get breakfast on the day. If you are lucky (which we weren't maybe a guest doesn't show up for breakfast and you can get that croissant but you will have to be the last one in the dinning room to get it.) Breakfast is from 7:30-9:30 so be on time (10 euros per person). Nice, clean, spacious dining room. TRANSPORT: Be mindful of the bus schedules as if coming back to the hotel after last bus (about 5:30pm) you will have to walk from the closest bus last stop, 30m or so. Wouldn't recommended even if you don't mind the walk, but at night and no sidewalk, it's a busy dark road and you will need reflector gear so drivers can see you to avoid being hit by a car. May be different in summer time but since we went in December, that's our experience. SUGGESTION: Hotel is no frills so don't expect much comfort or convenience. My recommendation would be for the hotel to at least offer filtered water station or jar, or even run a water vending machine. We asked for water at breakfast and basically was from the tap to the table, no filtration system so be mindful to get your own bottled water, no water bottles for sale option either. The hotel can use additional option for snacks vending machine and also make a little profit and guests convenience. SPACE: Don't expect too much room in the bathroom, tight shower and very close to the toilet so you have to angle yourself right LOL. The hotel is close to the main road so expect car traveling noise though out the night, if you are a lite sleeper bring earplugs and eye mask for headlights lighting up your room. No elevator so expect some flights of stairs, original wood floors so expect lots of walking noise and walls are somehow thin, hear furniture moving/chats.
I made the reservation, paid and informed them at the same time that we had a small dog. Then I received 2 messages from the hotel that they do not accept dogs and could not accommodate us. I booked another hotel and then was informed that they would not refund my money because it stated that there are no refunds.
Reception only works for ~4 hours a day. The windows hardly open, room isn't big, and the floor is creaking - but that's not even the worst.
We found many hairs on our towels, the bedsheets, pillows and blanket. The shower gave a very unstable hot water stream.
The general feel of the room was unclean and unpleasant.
Sounds from the main street outside were hardly blocked by the window, and you could hear you neighbors even when they were simply speaking or walking.
Also, doesn't include breakfast, and it costs 8€ per person + you need to order a day in advance. Inconvenient.
The one good thing was the car parking. If we had spare money, we would have switched a hotel even after the payment. Not worth your money.
Did I mention even the location wasn't good?
You could stay with the worst experience here.
No air conditioner, no refrigerator, no dryer, no cleaness and comfort.
It would be good for backpackers who don’t care above. Front will be close at 21:00. Car parking available.
