Ibis Annecy Cran Gevrier Hotel in Annecy

Perfect for 75€ per night. Stayed for 2 nights and got a room upgrade for more spacious room (3 beds, couch). Toilet is separated from the shower and sink. Service was friendly on check in and got asked about parking. We did not use their parking as our car was longer than 4,5 meters (it’s tight turn) but we found free street parking other side of the park. The location is great for bus (stop 1 minute walk) and ticket only 2 euros. But you may walk alongside the river to the city centre ( nice surroundings in the daylight). Did not have breakfast. Only one elevator which gets crowded in the morning (not really able to carry 2 luggage and 5 bags from the fifth floor) - orherwise used stairs. Soundproofing (corridor noice) has always been an issue with cost efficient hotels (including other chains too) but I didn’t need earplugs for the night. Many people seem to rate this low but I think it was value for the money.

I had a very good stay at the hotel and the breakfast was incredible ☺️ however, the only unpleasant moment during my experience happened at breakfast when some customers started shouting and speaking very rudely to the breakfast staff and showing them a huge lack of respect. It was a group of Greek adults who spoke very badly to the girls who were working and serving breakfast to them that morning. I would like to congratulate the hotel staff for their patience I honestly wouldn’t have had the same if someone talked to me the way they were talking to the staff girls so congratulations to these girls👏 if I have another chance to come back to Annecy I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again

Stephen was amazing, he found a charger we had previously forgotten, supplied milk and made sure we were completely comfortable. On a previous trip the reception clerk did everything she could to make sure we were parked safely and legally. Generally the staff make this hotel, they are exceptional. The family room is a really good size, the beds super-comfy and the linens of a good quality.

Three little points, the electrical sockets in the room are too-few and point down from a dado-rail so if you’re using converters beware, they may fall onto the floor. Parking is a nightmare, the limited spaces available have a restricted headroom so a roofbox or even SUV will not fit, street parking is limited, poorly marked and heavily policed.

Lastly not sure if it’s people walking filth into the hotel (the locals rarely clean up after their dogs) or the fact they let dogs into the hotel, but on our first visit we struggled to escape the smell of dog poo.

An excellent experience for the price. Staff were very helpful, the room was perfect for our needs and travel into the centre of town was very straightforward.
