Royal Garden Champs-Elysées in Paris

I stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip and was very disappointed with the overall experience. I had booked a double room but was only given a room with two singles. The room itself was very basic and not what you’d expect for the price, the coffee machine didn’t work, the shower head wouldn’t stay in its holder, and the general condition felt tired.

For €400 per night, I expected far more. The breakfast was mediocre and overall the stay felt closer to a 2-star hotel than what is advertised. On top of that, the rooms look nothing like the photos shown online, which was very misleading.

For the location, yes, it’s convenient, but the value for money simply isn’t there. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.

Jan-26 Update: I have just read the response from the hotel stating that I made a reservation 10 minutes before checking into the hotel, which is why they had two singles instead of a double bed. I made the reservation at least a month ahead of the booking. Reducing this rating to 1 stars because of this hotels response. Id now definitely recommend staying away from this hotel.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff were extremely unhelpful and uncooperative. I was forced to book two rooms just because I have a 4-year-old child, as they claimed no more than two people are allowed in one room.

When I asked to cancel the booking and get a refund, the staff member refused in a very rude manner and literally told me, “You can leave the hotel, but the money will not be refunded.” The way she spoke was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Only after we spoke to the manager did they finally agree to refund the amount. This should never have escalated to that point.

I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Bed bugs!!!! Do not stay here! First off I got about 20 bed bug bites on my face during my stay. I actually bring bed bug spray with me when I travel and I sprayed the bed but didn’t spray the pillows. Big mistake! The first night I thought I was breaking out but then after waking up the second night I realized what they were! Thankfully we checked out of the hotel after the second night of getting bitten.

I would have told the front desk but there were 2 women who were there when I checked in that were so unfriendly. They couldn’t find my reservation and when they finally did find it they acted like it was my fault that someone on their end changed details on it.

Then later that day I just asked the front desk for a ln extra hand towel and they looked at me like I was crazy. I don’t get it.

The only staff who were friendly and kind were the wait staff at the breakfast area. They were helpful and very sweet. The breakfast itself is mediocre.

For what you’re paying for a room €400+ / night, I expect more. Spend your money on a better experience at a nicer hotel. I would not recommend staying here at all.
