Reviews
Pros: Very good location and close to a subway station. Housekeeping is helpful and friendly. The breakfast lady is fantastic and the breakfast food was good. I also want to mention Alejandro at the reception who was super helpful and amazing. He gave us 5 star service.
Cons: Toilets are too high and I am pretty tall. Nearly impossible to reach for the toilet paper. Very weird concept. Bathtub is narrow and they are using a fixed glass window as a shower curtain which covers half the length of the tub so be ready to have pools of water on the bathroom floor after your shower. I've been to a few Accor-owned hotels now (e.g: ibis, mercure) and they make their bathrooms weird and very inconvenient for their hotel guests. Something needs to be done.
Now to the terrible experience we had with the 2 front desk staff. We were received by Benjamin who from the get go was not too cooperative. We had made a special request to be on a high floor and we even made several calls and were assured we'd be assigned a specific room. When we arrived Benjamin told us that the room was already taken. We were not too impressed and very disappointed. He proposed another room which was also on a high floor but said we'd have to wait as it needed to be cleaned. We agreed and waited. In the meantime he gave us the keys. Rooms ready we went up just to realize that the room was already taken. Why were we assigned an already occupied room? We went back to the lobby and Benjamin denied giving us that high floor room. He even said that he wrote the room number on the hotel card sleeve. We looked and he had not written any room number on the card sleeve. He quickly took my card sleeve away to write a room number down that was not the one he said he'd give us initially. He never apologized and gave me back the card sleeve with that very childish grin on his face. Talk about lousy customer service here. Then came Talia who we never talked to prior but for some reason decided to very subjectively side with her coworker. At this point we were very unhappy and instead of apologizing she gave us a lesson on how we should behave. The cherry on the cake came when Talia asked why we were so adamant on having a room on a high floor. The customer is asked why he wants a high floor...pretty unbelievable and both were trying to convince us that low floor rooms were the same...in North America you'd be fired for that...Arguing with a customer about his preferences...They never apologized and Benjamin seemed amused by the whole thing. Once I realized that they were not here to help us I figured there was no point discussing the matter any longer. This is our experience at this hotel so be prepared to be given a moral lesson by Talia and a smirk by Benjamin if you dare to be upset about their deception and argumentative attitude. It is quite extraordinary but true. On the other hand Alejandro was fantastic and super nice so thank you to him for giving his best.
Booked this hotel because it *clearly advertised air conditioning* on the website. When I checked in and found the AC wasn't working, I called the front desk at 1:30 PM. They told me to wait an hour for it to "kick in." I had to leave for the afternoon, so I left the AC on, hoping it would be fine when I got back. **Returned at 9 PM – still no cool air.**
Staff said the hotel was fully booked, so no room change possible. No compensation offered because I booked through Agoda – as if that makes the experience any less miserable.
They gave us a **noisy standing fan** that was so loud I could still hear it even with earplugs in. **Barely slept.** When I asked about switching rooms the next day, they couldn’t confirm and told *me* to check back again in the morning.
Completely unprofessional and **totally unacceptable**. Don’t trust the listing – if AC is a must, avoid this place.
The reception staff were also very kind and welcoming, especially Talia, who helped us order a taxi and made sure our stay was smooth and enjoyable.
Overall, I will definitely come back and recommend this hotel to everyone I can. It’s absolutely worth the money!
the zone where the hotel is situated is quiet but far from the center; anyway, this is not a big problem thanks to underground. However we paid a really low price for 4 nights in August so I have to recommend this hotel.
