Hotel Montaigne & Spa in Cannes

Stayed at this hotel for five days for a (ethereum) crypto conference at the Palais des Congrès, and I was expecting the very least because we’d heard things about French hospitality — but I was pleasantly surprised. Initially on the first day, the facilities were not as great and I was unsure whether I wanted to continue at the hotel because of the noise coming from the elevators and also the size of the rooms not being sufficient. Even though I booked quite in advance, the classic rooms are a bit small, and I would advise upgrading. Besides this, the breakfast is quite wide in terms of what it offers — from breads, juices, and salads to meat, cheeses, and eggs. You can also make your own salad bowl if you really wish to, so there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I personally also enjoyed the espresso machine, which I constantly made use of, especially during breakfast.

There’s also a spa which has a very nice hammam, an effective sauna, a hot tub with pretty good pressure, and a small swimming pool — and this helps you relax, especially on days where things can be slightly stressful, before and after the conference, particularly if you’re going for a work trip. I really also liked the attentiveness of the staff and the way they greeted you every morning and attended to your breakfast needs or other comfort requirements. I personally felt the ladies at the front were empathetic to clients and not oblivious or indifferent, and that was a heartwarming situation to be in. They did everything in their capacity to resolve problems that I had, which I really appreciate, instead of it being like a chain of hotels where you might not get that personalised attention — so I definitely want to make that relevant to this review.

The other thing is, on the highest floor you get beautiful views of the mountains, and it’s super close and walkable to the nearest restaurants and of course the Palais des Congrès, where big conferences happen and what Cannes is famous for in general — so pretty close to the old historical town of Cannes as well. I would highly recommend staying at this place if you are OK with the room sizes but would like good service nonetheless and proximity to the central town and the conference centre.

The location of this place is very good five minutes to the beach then staff are friendly. Their breakfast are very good for us which we don’t eat the meat so it was perfect compared to other French people we attend. The staff are very friendly and helpful. this hotel is really recently remodeled everything looks new so far everything is good

It is very close to the train station and attractions, the hygiene and service are good, especially the swimming pool and steam sauna are great. Four recommended, good hotel with good cost performance.
