I had a confirmed reservation for New Year at Tato Hotel in Tbilisi. After my booking was confirmed, the hotel contacted me and asked me to cancel the reservation, claiming there were “technical problems” and no available rooms.
This is completely unacceptable for a hotel. If there were no rooms available, the hotel should not have accepted the reservation. Because of this, I was left without accommodation for New Year.
I do not recommend this hotel. Be very careful when booking, especially for holidays.
Lights are glitching all the time, rooftop views do not correspond to what they advertise, same as with the breakfast (very poor), rooms are dark, lights inside the rooms are very dim, all the property could use some new painting.
Service and staff were pretty rude and dry, no welcoming wine drink that some people mentioned.
Breakfast shows photos of pancakes and it was mostly dry eggs, dry breads.
Have their own co-working where you can sit and work in peace. They also have their own cafe and rooftop space to chill 😌

That said, it’s a bit on the outskirts. While the cathedral is nearby, getting back from other market areas usually required a cab. We booked 3 rooms — 2 had hot water and working heaters, but 1 didn’t, so room maintenance is a bit inconsistent. Also, there was no receptionist available most of the time, which made it hard to get assistance when needed.
Overall, a decent stay for budget travelers, especially if you're okay with taking cabs and don't mind some trade-offs in room quality.
