First of all wonderful place, great location, spacious rooms, nice breakfast. 5 star! but. Pictures are misleading as hotel is on the top floor and garden is not part of it. You need to take the stairs, 70 steps, and limited to no light. Things are a bit shabby. Broken light bulbs, hotel night manager lying on the couch, a-broken toilet seat etc.

This is a great little place to stay. Quirky and historic with an amazing history. Spotlessly clean with friendly staff. If you're staying on a Saturday night you will hear the nightclub next door (still going as I write at 8am!) but the other nights it was really quiet. Walking distance to everything. The garden out the back is beautiful. I would stay again.

This place feels like a fairy tale. The guest rooms remind you of old grandeur where the development of the mind was more important than just random insta pictures. Great place to spend the night or even full summer. The cafe breathes inspiration and a perfect place to catch up on some reading.
