A magnificent hotel in a historic building with a superb location on the city square, offering the best possible hospitality to its guests. The breakfast, cleanliness, and attentive staff were all wonderful from start to finish. I'd like to thank the entire team, especially Mr. Erol. Quedlinburg is an indescribably special and beautiful place. Go, stay at this hotel and enjoy.

Quedlinburg is absolutely breathtaking, a fairytale city that transports you straight to the Middle Ages and is truly worth visiting. However, our stay at the Hotel Zur Goldene Sonne left us with mixed feelings.

For such a popular tourist destination and UNESCO World Heritage Site, we were surprised at how unwelcoming it could feel once we stayed longer than just a day. If you’re only passing through to stroll around for a few hours, you’ll probably be fine. But if you plan to stay a few nights and don’t speak German, be prepared for a bumpy ride.

What shocked us most was the language barrier, not with locals, but with the hotel staff themselves. The reception personnel could not speak English (an international language) and, surprisingly, didn’t even seem fluent in German. Even when we showed translated messages, they didn’t seem to understand them. In a hotel, that’s simply unacceptable. Are guests really expected to learn a new language just because the staff isn’t willing or able to communicate?

Booking a second night was unnecessarily difficult, and both check-in and check-out took far too long because of communication issues. By the time we finally sorted things out, the frustration had already spoiled some of the magic of our trip.

Our advice: if you don’t speak German, or an Eastern European language, consider staying elsewhere. Quedlinburg is worth the visit, but this hotel made our stay more stressful than it should have been.

Only stayed for one night but the hotel is right in the centre with its own car park at the rear which is 6 euros a day, bargain. Rooms are well equipped and comftorble enough. We really enjoyed our stay and wpuld go back.

The hotel itself is in a building old as satan himself. However, the location is great to walk to the main square and it is surrounded by restaurants. Plus, it has a parking on it's own for 6 Euro per day. Very comfortable in this part of town where is so difficult to park.

We had a spacious apartment for our family and ate dinner in the relaxing Biergarten of the restaurant. Great, central location in the city with easy access to cafés and little shops. Parking behind the hotel was great for unloading and loading our luggage.

Stayed here 2 days, breakfast was average and good, easy to access parking lot and the center of the city, if we return to Quedlinburg, we will return here, it is old fashioned, but we enjoyed it, nice hard beds, no luxury, but it works fine, compared to the price.

Without even being a guest at the hotel I was greeted professionally and was being helped nicely and provided with a free of charge dental kit I was asking for!
