Overall disappointing and at the very most 3 star not 4+ star as advertised.

The whole hotel is dated with a lot of significant wear. Room had cobwebs, spiders in the bathroom, and dated decor such as a poster above the bed held up with tape but peeling off of the wall. Bed was hard but solid, and typical for rural Germany. Bottled water only provided on first night. Wifi was slow, often did not work at all, and did not reach our room. Linen and towels at least were clean.

Food focused on quantity rather than quality with the included wine being undrinkable. It seemed that many guests ate large amounts and drank a lot of beer which explains why they need to serve cheap food. None of the buffet items were labeled (good luck if you have any allergies) and the menu (which was not on every table) even said it was a “surprise” on the Friday night. It seemed that on most nights there was one meat and one fish. One potato variation and one other carbohydrate. There was one dessert. The salad bar consisted of raw ingredients rather than salads. If you are vegetarian or lactose intolerant you pretty much will be going hungry. We did not eat the third night even though we had paid for it and went to the Hotel Post instead. Breakfast coffee is served as an insulated jug, and the rest is buffet but very basic. They do omelettes on demand but I wouldn’t recommend them. The bar is also badly stocked with only basic liquor (even though prices aren’t cheap).

The indoor pool is dated but generally clean. It did lack pool jets. The wooden saunas on top were off by 8pm even though it says that wellness is open until 10pm. Fitness area consists of 1 basic treadmill, some floor mats, and a pull up bar. No weights or cable machines. There is a table tennis table with worn out rackets.

The two older German woman at breakfast were friendly. Unfortunately most of the rest of the hospitality staff struggled with German and English.

Additionally the hotel hosted a wedding at the same time as we were there. No information was provided before or during our stay. Regular guests were moved to the bar area for meals. Music played until 2am even though we complained at midnight. They had our room right next to the bar area - really non-wedding guests should be placed in rooms further away. No compensation was made for the lack of sleep.

We paid €880 for 2 people for 3 nights, which I feel is far too much for the facilities and service provided. We will not be returning.

I cannot recommend this hotel or restaurant to anyone that is expecting 4 stars. If you do visit, then avoid the half-board giving you the option to eat elsewhere.

We booked a 2 night arrangement. When we got to the hotel we asked for an upgrade to the studio Goldblau as they are a good size. We were told they had none available. The guys at the reception desk then told us, there were rooms but due to lack of staff, the rooms were not cleaned. We ended up in a terrible dated room, with mould on bathroom wall, shower curtain was like a net curtain with rings missing , the carpet was filthy. On top of all that the people in the room next door were very noisy. I went downstairs to complain and we were given another room, even worse than the first one. We checked out next day as there was no way we wanted to stay another night. Overall: very dated and dirty hotel, carpets throughout filty, food is care home standard, waiter in restaurant was wearing Adidas jogging trousers. Night porter useless. Sauna area also dated. The only plus was breakfast and leaving this horrible hotel.

Not sure how this place got 4 stars and not 2.
Food is just plain bad and cheap. The rooms don't have anything in them, the bed is *not comfortable*.
We tried the wellness center and paid for a massage that was just unprofessional.

The 35€ dinner is worth 10€.
