This hotel didn't feel worth the price. I booked it for 5500 a night and was assigned a room on the 2nd floor with an extremely poor view. The Wi-Fi signal was terrible, and there was an outdoor bar below that was so loud I couldn't sleep.
To make matters worse, the bathtub in the first room I stayed in was broken and wouldn't drain. Luckily, Ctrip stepped in and helped me resolve the issue perfectly by switching my room.
I really don't recommend this hotel; it doesn't live up to its price point. You'd be better off staying at a Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental.
To make matters worse, the bathtub in the first room I stayed in was broken and wouldn't drain. Luckily, Ctrip stepped in and helped me resolve the issue perfectly by switching my room.

We recently stayed at The Grand Hotel and had a mostly positive experience.
The location was very convenient for exploring the city, and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had a good variety of tasty options.
However, there was one significant problem that impacted our stay: the air conditioner in our room was extremely loud. The noise and vibration made it very difficult to sleep through the night. We had to choose between being too warm or dealing with the disruptive sound.
Because of this, our stay was good, but not restful. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room with a recently serviced or quieter AC unit, or perhaps visiting during a cooler season when you might not need to use it.

The breakfast selection was disappointingly small and definitely didn't live up to the hotel's overall standard. Later that evening, after visiting a nearby establishment, I returned to the hotel at 12:30 AM. I rang the doorbell, but no one came to open the door. Having to wait for more than 10 minutes was quite frankly, outrageous.

The hotel clearly exudes a rich history and old-world charm, with its luxurious European-style decor. I had a bit of trouble initially finding the right entrance and the front desk within the building. I'd actually booked a city view room, but the front desk upgraded me to a stunning lake view room – seriously, you *must* book a lake view! The terrace views were absolutely breathtaking!! The room itself wasn't huge, but it did have air conditioning. The bathroom was a tad small, mainly due to a large, rather useless cabinet taking up unnecessary space.
