Some places don’t need to be loud to leave an impression.

Spent an hour in the lounge at Baur au Lac over tea and dessert while the rain settled softly outside over the lake. The atmosphere is what truly sets it apart — understated, calm and impossibly refined without ever feeling performative.

There’s a quiet confidence to the space. Soft conversations, impeccable service, warm lighting and that distinctly old-world Zürich elegance that makes you instinctively slow down a little. The staff moved through the room with real grace and professionalism — attentive without intrusion, polished without stiffness. Even the attire added to the experience: beautifully tailored uniforms that felt perfectly aligned with the surroundings and the heritage of the hotel itself.

The dessert and tea were excellent, but the experience was really about the feeling of the room — timeless, composed and restorative after a long day moving through the city.

One of those rare hotel spaces that understands luxury is often about restraint rather than excess.

The most delicious food I’ve had in Zurich! I was quite fortunate to come during Alba truffle season and enjoy some of their delicious alba truffle pasta, I also really loved the lobster bisque and langoustines they were impeccable! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Zurich!

We came here with expectations a bit on the high side, this being an age old Zurich establishment and all! We had the Brunch at their Baur Brasserie which is what this review is mainly for. We tried their Eggs Benedict, Rosti with Broccoli, poached egg and hollandaise sauce, kids menu items like waffles and pasta, drinks like Bloody Mary, Cappuccino. Overall food was above average but again nothing to brag about or spectacular! Drinks were really good and so was the kids menu. Service left a bit to be desired even though serving staff were helpful and friendly. Ambience and decor was amazing which wasn’t surprising given that this is a classic age old establishment. Be aware there is no parking on premises so you will need to find parking on the street nearby and walk a bit to this restaurant.

We celebrated our younger son’s 3rd birthday here and while everything was okay, we wouldn’t be coming here again just for the food or service, which like I mentioned were just okay and not great! They do also charge something called tellergeld which is a table charge for 10 CHF per person, and even for small kids. While I have seen this charge across many other European countries I have travelled to, its not very common in Switzerland, and especially not at places which are not supposed to be tourist traps, so again this was a surprise to us. Nothing wrong but again we weren’t expecting this. Premises and hotel are classic age old establishment and something unique to be experienced! In the summary, not a great brunch spot, many other better options exist in Zurich, but come here for the ambience and the old world charm, may be to stay or dine at their other Restaurant Margarita.

Had a wonderful dinner with extraordinary food and an esoecialy good sommelier. Try the Dover sole, even better than Le Bernardin! Slightly disappoint ling was the hardness of the rosti and the lack of ice cream in the profiteroles.

Super nice people working there and pleasant atmosphere.

Baur’s is a beautifully designed restaurant. The interiors are warm, refined, and thoughtfully styled, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed yet upscale meal.

We ordered the lobster soup and the rocket salad to start. The lobster soup was flavorful with a nice depth, though I personally would have loved it to be slightly creamier. Still, it was enjoyable and well executed. The rocket salad was very fresh and surprisingly delicious. It was simple, but done exceptionally well.

One of us ordered the wagyu, which was decent. The quality was good, but the flavor felt like it was missing something.

Overall, Baur’s offers a beautiful atmosphere, attentive service, and well-prepared dishes. We enjoyed our time here and would recommend it, especially for the ambiance and starters.

This hotel is a very famous and luxurious hotel in Zurich. It has the ultimate soft and hard facilities of a five-star hotel. 👍👍👍The location is unique and I will stay there again. However, the housing deposit of 200 Swiss francs has not been returned to the original card so far, which is a bit out of touch with work.

It is extremely convenient to travel around the city center of the old town. It is a good choice for girls who want to shop. However, the price is not cheap, about 5,000 to 6,000 RMB per night. I hope the price can be cheaper!

Friendly staff, and lovely rooms
Great location

A bit old and in need of renovation. The cloth hanging sling in my room was dysfunctional and full with mold. My vanity kit had obviously been reused (the package of the cotton paper inside has already been opened once I slid the box open). Its the small little things that can easily be improved. The staff were really nice and friendly and super eager to help though. I would say the quality I got was expensive for the price I paid.

Very good.Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. We had a comfortable and quiet room. Nicely decorated and clean with comfortable beds.
Close to the concert hall (Tonhalle).

Breakfast is really nice, service is top, it just can do with a bit of refresh in general, not a fun of the carpets either.
