Was looking for hotel with 2 beds and air conditioning and landed on this one. Last minute trip changes so we were left with limited options. It is an old hotel but the room was clean and the air worked well. Parking was easy with free parking as well as parking deck if free area is full.

Ok but silverfish in the room.
One night stopover. Squeky bed and several silverfish spotted in the room getting up at 5AM. Room 207 for reference.

Reception not friendly.
Only after reading all papers in the room you will know you can request slippers or bathrobe... but nobody mentioned it in reception even when I asked about sauna. So they could ask if we need robes on arrival moment ?
Or just inform that we can request...
No tea kettle in the room. In 4* hotel.. ???
Actually not good feelings there.
Maybe only breakfast is guite ok.
In some floors very old -used furniture.

We spend a night at this hotel when we had opera tickets in August. The hotel is well geared up for the festival, with shuttle buses for guests to and from performances (€5 pp fee for return) and a light buffet laid on for departing opera goers. We were also very helpfully given early access to our room. The room itself was fairly basic with good Wi-Fi and a fridge. Breakfast buffet was good with omelettes to order, though very busy. The hotel offered pre ordered meals post opera, which we didn’t have - there’s plenty of places to eat at the festival house - but enjoyed the late bar. Prices - at €240 B &B - reflected the festival prices and it was a good festival base.

Nothing exceptional about the room, but the staff are superb. Breakfast is good. Reception always helpful. More, the bar steward is on it and quick. The rinderroulade was the best food I've had in Bayreuth over the years. And the beer is toll! Total fantastisch...und meine Deutsch ist schlecht.

Overall this is a decent hotel, maybe a bit outdated with the decor and furniture, but clean and suitable for trips to the city. The rooms are sufficient in size and equipment. Parking has options of ground floor for free or paid underground. I always managed to get a free spot and this was already my 3rd visit there. Breakfast offering was good and sufficient for my healthy needs. Location of the hotel is near a shopping mall and a walking distance from city centre. Staff is helpful and friendly.
