Best Western Aparthotel Birnbachhöhe in Bad Birnbach

Stayed here for three nights while visiting the region. The hotel offers a lot of wellness related services and caters to those who would visit the Rottal Therme, none of which we used. The rooms are positively gigantic, with balconies or patios, and a kitchenette, which we did not use. Furnishings are a bit dated but at least in our room in decent shape. Bathrooms could also do with an upgrade. We visited when it was quite hot, there's no air conditioning, and the doors to the balcony have no screens. We got a fan from the reception, which helped. What doesn't help is that the rooms are supposed to be non-smoking, yet everyone smokes on their balconies, so second-hand smoke is an issue when keeping the balcony door open. Nice breakfast was included. Service was friendly, but the reception closed at 6. Some restaurants are in easy walking distance. When we visited there was plenty of free outdoor parking or paid garage parking.

Quiet and Comfortable
Comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast.

We had no clue what this place was like. We had four days to spend before the Viking cruise. We had a blast checking out the ‘hood’,shopping, German biers and food. The hotel itself was dated but clean and practical.5 stars for the front desk,wait staff,sauna on call and the all inclusive breakfast.Also the nearby mineral baths.

Very good service, whether at the reception or in the breakfast room.
Breakfast buffet varied and nicely presented, staff quick and super friendly.
The apartment was huge, bathroom and toilet separate, large balcony with a beautiful view.
Quiet and pleasant ambience.
Unfortunately, you can only have a drink in the hotel until 8 p.m., reception only open until 6 p.m.
You don't have to go far into town. Large car park at the hotel or - for a fee - underground car park.

Large rooms with terrasses or balconies, excellent kitchen, very calm, closed to the "Rottal Terme"

This Best Western, situated on the top of a hill overlooking the valley, has an apart hotel vibe and is geared towards health resort guests. The rooms are very large with an also very large balcony overlooking the landscape. Our rooms had a fully equipped small kitchen. The style is modern and functional.

The breakfast was good and was served downstairs in the restaurant / breakfast area. Due to Covid there was no buffet, but the items we had pre-selected the night before were served at the table (very relaxing). We did not have dinner. The thermal swimming pool is in walking distance, but just like the hotel sauna/spa area unfortunately was closed due to Covid.

Unfortunately the hotel does not seem to have an area where to spend a couple of hours outside the hotel room (lounge, library etc.), e.g. if one were interested to have a glass of wine and read a good book or meet friends. The rooms though are big enough to accommodate a small group.
