Hotel Apfelbaum in Erding

I liked everything. The accommodations were clean, and you can get a discount on the water park. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly.

Good hotel, friendly staff and nice location with amazing breakfast at just 10euro. Shopping mart is walkable distance.

Quite new, well laid out hotel. Excellent breakfast, both in terms of food and presentation. Friendly staff. With a car it is quite close to the airport (about 15 minutes), and still reasonably quick to get into central Munich (depending on the time of day). Would definitely stay there again.

No swimming pool as shown in the photos
Don’t be fooled by the photos. The first pic they posted shows a pool. It’s NOT their pool. It’s for Therme Erding. I foolishly thought they had a swimming pool on site. Didn’t notice the amenities list didn’t include a pool; should be against the rules to post pics of other facilities.

Apfelbaum is a beautiful hotel with excellent service, a delicious breakfast menu, and close proximity to the Erding Thermal Park.

Within walking distance to the waterpark and around the block from Lidl. Sleepy town, two restaurants, a McDonalds and the waterpark/hotel. Close to the metro from downtown Munich. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast on location worth the wait! Fresh bread delivered in the morning, €70 cab ride to MUC airport from the hotel at 05h00 with no traffic so not the best location for early departures. Metro to the airport close and accessible after 06h00, still allow 2hrs to transit to airport. Clean and simple rooms, hard to cool down, heavy doors, tight efficient German construction, but limited airflow and no A/C in the room.

We stayed here two nights for a full-day visit to Therme Erding. Overall there is nothing to complain about. The rooms are fairly basic and have everything you need, including a good shower, comfy beds and small TV. Very clean. There is also parking. The service is courteous. If getting back late from the saunas you can enter through the side door - very simple. There is also a fridge in the lobby where you can get Erdinger beer. The breakfast looked popular though we did not have a chance to try it. You can also buy passes at the front desk to Therme Erding. You only save a few euros but why not since it only takes a minute or two. To note, the most direct route to Therme Erding leads along a dirt path passing through farmer’s fields. If going by foot, the all-sidewalk route is quite circuitous so the shortcut is worth it. For us this was perfectly fine though we did need to get out our flashlights at night to avoid the pooled water from the rainstorm. If taking the S-Bahn get off the S-2 at Altenerding, it is a short 15 minute walk from there. The area where the hotel is located is maybe not the nicest town in appearance, but this is Germany and everything is relative - we found it totally safe, if a bit drab. Also, note that the taxis in Munich are crazy expensive. The taxi ride to the airport came out to about 55 EUR despite taking only 15 minutes and Apfelbaum being located in a cluster of supposedly “airport hotels.” Unfortunately the S-Bahn is not of much help unless you want to circle back to Ostbahnhof in the city. If you have time and want to save money you may want to consider a bus, but otherwise you just have to bite your tongue and resign yourself to the high cost.

Great location, very near Therme Erding and also easy walking distance to S-Bahn to Munich Centre. Room and bed good. Breakfast okay, but expensive.

Clean, inexpensive and good for overnight before flying out of Munich. Breakfast was great. Rooms were a little small but good for short stay.

Great value for the price, great location walking distance to Therme. Best value Hotel in Area. Bring your own coffee and shower gear, but everything you need.
