Hotel St Georg -, Regensburg1 / 24

Regensburg, Karl-Stieler-Straße 8-9 (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
After a bad experience of spending 2 nights in an unexpectedly shubby, micro-size, hot and loud room in Ludwig's Hotel in Fussen we were simply pleased to have a spacious double room on the top floor with a proper desk, wardrobe, aircon and a bathtub. The Spanish receptionist was very nice and helpful, she managed a high workload very well and should be at least praised for her skills, including good...
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel St. Georg in Regensburg. From the moment we arrived, the reception was extremely welcoming. As we were traveling with our dog, we were touched to find that the receptionist had prepared a special treat for her – such a thoughtful gesture! Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a complimentary bottle of water waiting for us. The hotel is...
Too big and uncomfortable pillows, staff understand English but don't want to speak (I don't mean the receptionists, they were cool), good parking, massive rooms, warm and nice bathrooms. All good. Not sure the breakfast was worth 13€ per person and 10€ for child, but....
Used this hotel for a school trip. Rooms are lovely, staff are great, perfect location for getting to our partner school and also for bus stops to get to Regensburg city centre easily. Breakfast was great.
Very nice hotel with good sense of service. We were late and they called us to ensure we have access to all information about our room at night. Spacious rooms, kind and helpful staff.
The hotel is located in a quiet green neighborhood. Its not only a business hotel but a hotel for anybody, even family like us. Our rooms were allocated in the renovated part of the hotel and they were excellent! Really spacious, super clean with minimal decoration but having everything we needed. Comfortable beds and pillows! The stuff were all great. We didnt have breakfast there so no comments about...

You cannot do better than this. Perfect location. Beautiful spacious rooms with a great city view. Plenty of space with two chairs, desk, à small table, mini fridge and wardrobe with shelves. Lots of outlets for charging. Super firm mattresses. The bathroom has good lighting and my favorite thing to see, a magnifying mirror! It has none of the usual annoyances of hotel bathrooms. It’s got a big shower...
Lovely greet, really friendly service and secure bike storage. Really friendly. Good explanations. Hotel was stunning in this UNeSCO heritage sight town. Room spacious. Location excellent! Enjoyed the hotel - great for a solo traveller or anyone.
This small hotel is very central to everything, in easy walking distance from the station and even closer to the Cathedral, The Stone Bridge and all the other things you might want to see. The bed was co fortable (I slept through the night for the first time in 4 weeks!), and the staff was amazing!!! So helpful, and always with a big smile! They even offered me a late check out as it was raining and...
The hotel is in an ideal position, where you can visit the town simply walking. Nice room well renovated and the same applies to the bathroom. Room is big and comfortable. Rich breakfast with all you can wish. Very silent place being in the area closed to traffic.
I looked at the other remarks and thought OK give it a go, and wow. This place is great, small, Ok it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some other hotels smack in the middle of a world heritage city might have, but for this price this is a real gem. I visited on business but you can be sure I will be back privately.
Top location in the heart of the city. Very friendly team (e.g. at one occasion I was running late and had to skip breakfast. The person at reception realized that and, at checkout, offered me a coffee for takeaway. Saved my morning!) The rooms are totally fine (a bit old school maybe, but that's part of the concept). They have a decent number of power sockets and the WiFi is working reliably. The...

Breakfast was good. Service was excellent. The room layout was unique; not every room had a direct elevator.
Quaint, room that was very spacious, friendly, helpful staff and a great location for access to the Altstadt.
Spent five nights at the hotel and even when we requested the room was not vacuumed and glasses and cups were not replaced. There were spiderwebs in one corner. The reception was friendly, but clearly there is something wrong with the cleaning staff.
It is a very good hotel in the very heart of the old town of Regensburg. A well-organised property with nice rooms in a historical building. The room I had was very cosy and warm. The staff were very helpful both at the front desk and at the breakfast restaurant. The breakfast though could be more versatile and include more vegetables both cooked and fresh.
Great variety of food; we came to see the Christmas Market and it was just steps from the hotel! Beautiful!
Great stay last week in Regensburg. I stayed in room 28 which was spacious, clean and very quiet. Coffee and 1 bottle of water in room each day. Location was great, you could walk to everything. I didn’t try breakfast, instead went to the many bakeries/coffee shops. Parking was my only complaint and a bit of a pain, but I figured it out after a few days (and same challenge for most city hotels). Here...

We only spent here one night midway on our journey. For that purpose, this is a perfect place. The hotel is close to the highway, but it is in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was nice, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Room was ok, could do with a little bit more attention to cleaning especially in the bathroom. Can't say that in the morning I was made to feel welcome at breakfast time either...but if you don't mind that, the hotel is in a good quiet location.
Service was good. Picked up my key from a vault because my arrival was late and there was no one at the reception anymore. Instructions where very clear (with photos). Rooms where ok. Bed was so hard it felt like i slept on a couch. Had a lot of better options in the past for this price.
This is a very good modern hotel. It's in a suburban location about 10 minutes out of Regensburg old town, close to the freeway. It has good size rooms, very quiet, good heaters, good shower, a bar fridge with food in it (rarity in Germany). Very good breakfast in a nice bright room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking and the best part, it has an indoor heated (lukewarm) swimming...
Very fine hotel, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, very silent despite the proximity of the freeway, convenient parking place behind the hotel. Excellent breakfast! An ideal hotel for transit. I warmly recommend it!

Great hotel in a great location. The staff were amazing giving us lots of tips and recommendations regarding the local area and even the history of particular events and buildings.
Staff is friendly, rooms are nice, it's a perfect location!
Very nice hotel close to Regensburg Hbf and major attractions. Very helpful staff. Breakfast had lots of variety and was good.
Food was delicious, place was practical, price was reasonable, people were nice, rooms were cleaned and comfortable... Everything was nice👍
Room was nice and clean. Building itself is old, but it was well maintained. Reception uncomplicated and friendly staff. I felt well here as a poc. Good location, 5 min walk from the main station.

I wanted to love it. But it was an outright disappointment. It felt understaffed and as much as the staff tried, they appeared undertrained. We opted to order bottles instead of the wine pairing with the tasting menu and my glass sat empty for half the meal with no one noticing. All this would be forgivable if the food was excellent but it seemed like a kitchen trying too hard to be dynamic and unexpected...
Brilliant location, central in the old town. If coming by car & have a parking space booked, you'll drive through the pedestrian area to get to the car park Very close to both the central christmas markets, and only 1km walk to the Thurn & taxis market. Main door to hotel not totally obvious, big glass door that matches the shop next door. Excellent breakfast but coffee not very flavoursome or strong...
Regular here. It's an old building, be aware of that. That's it for the criticism. Praise starts here: Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are quiet. Breakfast is one of the best in Bavaria. Ask for the Eggs Benedict! If you want an extraordinary experience book a table for dinner, it's truely excellent!
Booking.com shows the rooms have A/C but they don't. The reception was able to bring us a fan which helped. It is definitely worth it to pay for a reserved parking space in their lot.
This is mainly a review of the restaurant We stayed for new year (Silvester) and had the most amazing dining experience. The set taster menu was truly a feast with many additional extras and accommodation for dietary requirements (pescatarian). We had the wine pairing which was excellent with some really unusual and special wines. Service was excellent- prompt but not intrusive, the sommelier was...

Bed and comforter were quite comfortable for a good night sleep. Air conditioning was fine.  However, if you don’t own a car, the location is not really good; The hotel is located in an industrial area with many trailers and trucks. The nearest bus stop is situated 10 mins away, so I was pretty anxious to walk to and fro between the bus stop and the hotel, especially when it’s dark. (And the bus comes...
Never again Car park slots are made for motorbikes. I am not joking and my car is not 4 wheel drive. You have to take all out of the car and push it back in between the two cars from outside as you want be able to open the door if you drive in. After trying all options the receptionist came out and explain that there are more parking places at the back of hotel. Should know this earlier but at least...
Very friendly staff. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for one night. The breakfast was excellent.
Ok for one night Apart from being on an industrial estate it was good, we had difficulty checking in and the staff not up to much but its ok as an overnight stay
This hotel is great for transit or sleepovers. The room is simple, tidy and exceptionally clean. The receptionist is kind and helpful. The breakfast is poor, but all the better. It was delicious. I will use the hotel again next time, as a clean hotel is good on a long journey.
This hotel is close to the highway, therefore in a great location for travelers looking for a short stay. The bed was comfortable. The bedsheets, toilet and shower were clean. Unfortunately I could not say the same about the cleanliness of the common areas (hallway, stairs). Nevertheless, good enough considering the price.

A bit spartan. The rooms were clean but a bit spartan, the mattrass was hard. There was no flexibility w checkout time. The place is v difficult to find w GPS since its a newly developed area. The restaurant staff were kind and accommodating. About a 25 min walk downtown.
The room was very good, and so was the evening meal. Breakfast was OK, but no cooked dishes. But perhaps one can ask for it. I did not do that.
Business trip 1 night stay I bit hard to find: my car GPS had problems and so had google. But after some driving around I found the right way. Breakfast was a great experience. Easy walk to Hauptbahnhof, Donau and shopping. Rooms were clean. Clear attention to detail. Small hotel. Guests are not ignored; exceptional, friendly service. Many breakfast items sourced locally.
Very pretty, excellent location, but the rooms are tiny. Seriously: an obese person cannot have a shower in the room that we had.
Nice room, nice Ambiente, clean, near Trai station and downtown all in walking distance
Excellent host, bicycle friendly, good cafe nearby. Ten minute walk to Regensburg center.
Hands down the best place to enjoy a true Regensburg visit. Its a small hotel inside an old historic building, so do not expect to sleep in a loft. However the rooms are spotless, warm and homely. What truely sells it though is the personal. They go above and beyond for breakfast and helping tourists find the real attractions and restaurants in Regensburg.
Location is convienant with a parking garage down the street that costs 11 euro per day. Check in was a little confusing since we dont have cell phone service and didnt receive the directions to enter the hotel since its not staffed after 12 pm. Rooms were small but nice and clean.

Absolutely fantastic! Just over the stone bridge from the altstadt, it's quieter and superbly convenient... particularly as we came by train and are not parking a car. The place is absolutely saturated in atmosphere, incredible beautiful antiques in the rooms and hallways. No front desk, but great communication and it was simple and fast to get our key with the course we received. We plan on coming...
Great location, but in all other aspects, quite poor. Unclean towels, hair left in shower, absolutely no staff present aside from one person. No reception, you have to call one day prior in order to receive a code to get your room key out of a safe in front of the hotel yourself. Also, there are only a few parking spots right in front of the hotel, and you can only stay in these spots for one hour...
This is our favorite hotel in the city. The unique, charming rooms with antique furniture, the lovely, accommodating staff, and the location keep us coming back year after year. We love the view of this gorgeous city across the bridge, the beer gardens a stonethrow away, and the Greek restaurant downstairs. Hotel Lux is a treasure!
Never met any staff our whole visit. A neighbor across the street helped us check in and gave us the key to our room.
Good wifi, great breakfast, nice staff, very big room, close to center. Everything was good.
Location is perfect, room itself is decent with pretty old furniture. Obviously don't expect a 5 star hotel, illustrated by price as well. Tip for hotel owner, better curtains would be nice as they really don't cover the morning light coming in during the summer. Breakfast is also good, nothing extra.

Nice clean hotel, comfortable bed and pillow, thick fluffy duvet, decent amenities, quiet neighborhood.
Delicious Bavarian food in a cozy and rustic atmosphere. Very friendly service and fair prices. Particularly good value daily specials.
We didn't stay at the hotel, but we ate at the restaurant in the garden and it was a pleasant experience. Eating good bavarian food underneath the trees it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and the fact that they spoke english was a plus. It was a very good choise to ear there and not go at the crowded restaurants in the city center.
There were quite a few people in the restaurant. And we were a small group. I liked that it was very clean and tastefully decorated. The waiters were especially nice. Some of us had a hearty dinner, I personally only ordered Kaiserschmarn and a white wine. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.
Wonderful meal, great atmosphere, just had to translate items from German into English. Chose to eat outside as its a really nice, pleasant evening. Highly recommend

Very good modern hotel. Worth to stay
We had a great experience at Dock. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There are two good restaurants in walking distance. The hotel has a charging station, but the one stall was already in use,so we could not use it. But there is a Q8 supercharger in 7 minutes walking distance, so it was not a big problem. In case you come with an electric car, you can book the charging station .
Good, simple and clean rooms, unfortunately they doesn't have restaurant but near is other restorane. Breakfast is good as well.
I stayed here for 10 days (business purpose) and was the best choise. The rooms are big and very clean. The staff is friendly and can help you with any information you need. The breakfast is delicious and you can find a variety of choices. The city center is not so far (20 minutes walk) and you have a bus station 50 meters from the hotel.
Great start point to start your visit in Regensburg. Calm surrounding and pleasant stuff

The staff during our whole stay was very welcoming, pleasant and accommodating!! The location is great!!
Clean room but very small, no chairs to sit on just a stool. There was also a lack of lighting. The inability to leave power on in the room when you are out to charge electronics was a negative and the shower was difficult to manipulate so it was tall enough to get under and yet not spray out of the shower area. Breakfast was a plus, hot and cold options all being filled regularly.
We thought the breakfast hot food very poor, otherwise a good selection
Nice hotel on the edge of the old city center. Hotel room has good beds and a nice bathroom. Standard continental breakfast option, if items on buffet are not available, they will be filled within 5 mns. Parking possible but recommended to book with the room.
Excellent option if you are staying in Regensburg for business or leisure. Rooms are ample and comfortable. Also very clean with a great shower. They are removed from the street and that makes them quiet too The location is perfect. Close to everything, and close to transit (buses). They offer a buffet breakfast with hit options. The service is cordial and efficient. Good value for the money.

Nice staff. Small place with many levels...we were on top floor. Overall it was fine...nothing great. The room was small and plain. But it's close to the train and the medieval sights.

I picked this hotel because it used to be a barn and I am so glad that I did! We were upgraded to a family suite which was very large and lovely. It had everything one could ask for. The staff were welcoming and friendly and breakfast was excellent. We were catching a cruise ship in Regensberg and the hotel was close enough for us to walk there with our luggage. Would definitely stay here again.
I feel uneasy in a hotel that demands payment before useing the rooms, is there is something untrustworthy about the customers, or is it the hotel management? The so-called 'Retro-style' was an excuse for second-hand furniture and cheap fittings, sorry but we are seasoned travellers and used to something else.
Very friendly staff, great boutique hotel with quite large rooms. Was a fantastic stay for us traveling with our 1-year old child.
A wonderful base for exploring the city and relaxing right on the Danube. The lovingly designed rooms make you feel completely at home. It immediately feels like home! The staff is extremely friendly.
