Lovely Hotel in the bayerischer Wald.
Pros:
- Breakfast
- Surroundings
- Spa area
- Friendly staff

Cons:
- The only "con" that we see is that there aren't supermarkets / restaurants near by, so you need to rely a bit on your car (Zwiesel is 5-10 min drive)

Rooms were OK, but not very clean because the cleaning lady rarely came. We ran out of toilet paper and it was simply not replenished. The food was literally disgusting. On the first day the food was raw, on the second day it was brought two hours later and was completely oversalted, and on the third day the food was full of tendons. The breakfast buffet did not have a large non-meat selection. So it was definitely not desirable.

The wellness area was big enough that you could always find a place to lie down. I think the highlight was the saunas in the forest, it was something totally different and Andy's infusions were great! I can recommend it. The room was OK and clean, I wouldn't book dinner next time. Breakfast was OK, but the buffet was unfortunately not sufficiently stocked, it was difficult to ask the staff at breakfast. On the other hand, the new bartender at the bar in the evening was great and was able to fulfill our every wish!

When I checked in, it was mentioned that room service only takes place every other day. I go on holiday to make the beds and clean the bathroom. Unfortunately, that didn't happen until the late afternoon of the second day, and not at all on the fourth day. The design of the menu from which you were supposed to choose at breakfast was a joke, but unfortunately not funny at all. "Pork belly, apple, carrot" was what a main course sounded like. Soup tasted like broth from a packet. Side dishes were always pureed, as if you were in a retirement home, and it was not clear what it actually was. There were plenty of rolls (9 baskets full on the buffet), but unfortunately they were as crispy as sawdust. No crispbread, wholemeal bread, etc., you had to cut the mixed bread yourself. Getting coffee from the machine is not exactly worthy of 4 stars. 6 loungers for around 120 guests in the spa area puts you in a good mood when the weather is raining. No event tips (Carnival week), no newspaper in the lounge, no toiletries in the bathroom, soap dispenser only worked with great effort. No idea who gave this place 4 stars and what for

An improvement compared to last year: the sauna master, who makes infusions, which take a little longer and are rather weak, but at least...

What needs to be improved:
On Friday evening, the waitress in the bar said she couldn't mix cocktails because she was just a temporary worker. If you run a bar, you have to have someone there who can make cocktails.
At dinner, the vinaigrette was out and wasn't refilled. The other dressing tasted of nothing.
Some of the pepper and salt shakers didn't work properly or were mostly empty.
At breakfast, there were no wholemeal rolls or similar and you had to wait a while for refills of scrambled eggs and the otherwise well-made warm mushrooms.
There was no shower gel in any of the showers in the wellness area.

The Robenstein would be even better if it took a few details - see above - more seriously.

In principle, it can be recommended, but some weaknesses are annoying and should not be present in a four-star hotel.

The hotel is large. The wellness area inside and out is well-kept and attractive. The double rooms are The food is good, but not special. On Christmas Eve, the chaotic, unorganized meal, which was advertised as a gala dinner, lasted over four hours. Wine was only available in bottles. Nothing happened for a long time between courses. Some tables didn't even get the first course because the roast goose was gone. Nobody communicated why there was this chaos, which led to great annoyance. One problem with the large complex is the far too small dining room, where people sit close together. The organization in general is not good. We had to request confirmation of our booking several times.
