On the positive side, the staff were very polite, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was very convenient.
Only drawback was we booked a double room with a "queen" bed which essentially turned out to be 2 twin beds with seperate single duvets. We asked for a topper and the reception said he'd check with housekeeping but nothing was changed. Essentially ended up sleeping seperatley for 3 nights which was disappointing, especially considering the price we paid.
The room was in a state of disrepair. The walls had flaking paint and the bathroom door lock was broken. The walls had scuffs on there too as if the furniture had been moved around in the past. The third bed in the family room was a fold up bed but as it was on wheels on a laminate floor this had a tendency to move.
The room however was reasonably sized and had a safe and a fridge. The 500ml complimentary water was an oddity, why one bottle for a family room for 3? Either give nothing or give at least 2.
No room service for a 2 night stay.
This was also the only hotel I've been that can't source a bottle opener. Most hotels would try to go to the kitchen and locate one but not in this case.
The breakfast was ok. Nothing special. The fruit salad was particularly disappointing, bland tasting fruit. Coffee was ok. Lacked depth.
Location wise, near 2 stations (10 min walk) so reasonable and no city tax. Also on a main road so feels reasonably safe.
I'm afraid I wouldn't book here again. It is ashame as I was going to book a Premier Inn and only chose this as it appeared better than what Premier Inn offered at a similar price.
There's also a little grocery store very close to grab supplies. Super handy!
Room was fine. Breakfast was good and buffet style!
For sure, will come back when in Berlin!
