If you are looking for a budget stay and you don't mind sharing a room with up to 5 other people, this place has everything you'll need: a bed, a hot shower and a space to catch up with work. The facilities are minimal but very clean and well maintained, though I'd say the showers could use a replacement. Also, it would be nice to get a bigger locker space to put personal belongings in, as the locked drawer is very small. The location is very close to public transportation and from there, the entire city becomes accessible.

100% recommend this place if you are looking for calm and comfort! Myself and my partner stayed here for one night and it was such a cool experience. I have to say I was a small bit apprehensive at the beginning as we were on the top section in the 6 bed room but honestly you get used to it so fast. The style and comfort of the whole place is so beautiful. And the bathrooms! We felt like we were in a spa. There aren’t much kitchen facilities so just be aware of this but it’s fine as it’s right by lots of restaurants. If you are a solo traveller looking to meet people in a busy common area it may not be the place for you but if you are looking to relax it is the perfect place. And such good value for money! All of the other guests we met were lovely too. Overall we really loved it!

Cozy, Safe and Great Location! I booked the Minimal Hostel for two nights in November. I stayed in a co-ed room that had six beds. This was my first time staying in a co-ed room. I was a little nervous and hesitant, but it was great. The employees and guests were friendly. I felt safe, relaxed, and comfortable. It's in a great location that's easy to find. For negatives: We did have some minor miscommunication in regards to check-in. Also, the WC downstairs was clean, but smelled a little funky. Overall Minimal was perfect for me; a solo traveler who just wanted to have a safe, comfortable base while exploring Berlin!

This is a nice, small hostel. The beds, rooms and toilets were satisfactorily clean. There is also a small kitchen with some utensils and the like, which I did not really use.
The hostess is very nice and considerate. The check-in is quite flexible and you can arrive outside of regular check-in hours and still have a way to readily access your bed/room if you speak to the hostess in advance and arrange it.
The main advantage for this place is its location, with many nice restaurants scattered around it at a walkable distance.

second time at Minimal, now i'm sure that this will always be my one and only option to stay in Berlin cozy, quiet and with the minimum you need: comfy beds (except from the pillows), locker and lights next to the bed, a common area with a big table where you can also work as the atmosphere is relaxed, and a big bathroom downstairs with huge showers always clean i hope to see you soon, minimal ;-)

I stayed in Minimal 2

Its hands down one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in and this sentiment was shared by everyone who stayed here.

Its not a place to meet a lot of people as its quite small without a bar. However, if you are looking for a peaceful and clean place to stay. This is definitely the one.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. And had no problems during the whole stay.

Trains, grocery, markets and lots of eateries close by.

Thank you for creating such a beautiful place.

I stayed here with my girlfriend over the summer and it was fantastic. It's in a great location in Berlin where there are lots of cafes and the canal to walk along or sit in the sun and enjoy a Radler. It's very clean and very cosy, the people who run this hostel will make your stay very enjoyable! Stay here if you are a cool and nice person. We stayed in the double room and the dorm and it was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!!

This was truly an amazing place to be! There is a common room with chairs and a small "kitchen" where it was really nice to hang out and speak with both other room mates and the owner when she stopped by in the morning. The toilet and shower facilities were really nice, and had some amazing details you have to see for yourself. The room was possibly the best experience. No bunk beds, but a self-built mezzanine. Each bed separated with a lockable metal cabinet for your stuff so it really felt like your own little private space. I never had a better experience with a hostel than this one.

Highly recommended!
I’ve had a great stay in Minimal hostel (the private room). Anne is just a wonderful, enthusiastic and very caring host, always in for a chat and some good tips. The hostel itself is small, charming and clean. Conveniently located as well, right in the ‘alive’ neighborhood of Neukolln, close to the U Bahn and the shores of the Spree river. The food market around the corner (I believe once or twice a week) is a must!
The only downside: the pillows are very soft.

Great host nice bed. Cant call it a bunk bed felt more like a loft. You have personal space with curtains and spacious cabinets and lockers next to your bed. Didnt even need it because i left my stuff out in the open anyway. Really great personable guests. Max 10 ppl at a time in the whole hostel makes it cozy. Host gives great recommendations to experience berlin like a local. Cant recommend it enough
