Schloss Hotel Kommende is truly beautiful — the castle itself is a dream. As a huge fan of historic buildings and castles, I absolutely wanted to stay there during my two-day trip to Bonn.

In the evening, when the lights go down, the atmosphere becomes incredibly romantic. I honestly fell in love with this castle the moment I arrived. At one point, I even imagined celebrating my wedding there — but in the end, it turned out to be Santorini instead. Still, this place will always have something special in my heart.

The rooms are clean, though slightly dated, which honestly didn’t bother me. It somehow even fits the character of such a historic property. The breakfast was good and perfectly fine, and we had dinner in the castle’s restaurant, which serves Italian cuisine — very delicious. The service throughout our stay was attentive and genuinely friendly.

One thing to keep in mind: the hotel is a bit outside the city center, so having a car is definitely recommended. But that’s a small trade-off for staying in such a charming and peaceful location.

No breakfast, even though I was told there would be. Room was not serviced during the day. No tea or coffee making facilities. Couldn't work the hot water on the first morning. No life in the hotel.

No personal contact on site, restaurant closed, lamp in the bathroom broken, room smelled musty. But it was clean, easy to get to and a beautiful castle with a beautiful courtyard.

Charming place, my room (nr24) was very nice with great views to the city at sunset.

Service was very friendly and attentive.

We went to the Kommende for dinner. The castle is very impressive. The food was excellent, as was the wine, although at €12.00 per glass it was quite expensive. There was homemade bread for those who wanted it. The welcome and service left nothing to be desired. And the tiramisu at the end was very tasty. I would recommend planning enough time for a meal. I would be happy to go again, it was a lovely evening. S. Wolters

Went here for lunch with business partners. Really nice terrace, great view, friendly service. The fish however wasn't cleaned well (still some entrails under the filet, prepared by the waiter...) and for a restaurant with this price range, that is a no-go.

DON’T EVER VISIT THAT PLACE!!! I booked a room for a business trip. My room is nothing as the pictures shown here. They put me in a room which is in the tower next to the gate of the yard it is a horrible horrible place. It is cold and noisy from the Motorway outside. It is the worst hotel I ever stayed in Germany. I am not quite sure if it is legal to give out such rooms. If you choose this hotel you will be ripped off. I am appending some photos to see where can they put you when you book over there.

Beautiful place, but be prepared for quite a walk if you're not arriving in a car. The Italian restaurant there deserves a visit, the rooms however could use a bit of renovation.
