Steigenberger Icon Grandhotel & Spa Petersberg in Konigswinter

After a long, strenuous trip by car, coming from Switzerland, I finally arrived at this beautiful located hotel. After being installed in my room I tried to find the remote control, also looked under the bed, where I was confronted with a lot of dust and dirt. After a call with the reception someone came up to bring a remote control, at the same time I asked him to take a look under the bed, after this he left without any reaction. I had to call the reception short after again about a very unpleasant noise. They explained that it was the employee elevator and that it would stop around eleven!?Exhausted I fell asleep but woke constantly up due to this loud noise. Finally I went far after eleven, very upset to the night portier, telling him that he should give me another room or I would leave immediately. I had to change rooms in the middle of the night. I am still wondering why I got the worse room in the hotel, not clean and next to the GUEST elevator. There was no excuse the next morning. We had many problems during our stay.
When we arrived and got our room, it was lacking advertised features, it was very small and did not have a bath. Wet asked for a room change, this was very difficult. Apparently there were no other rooms, even though we booked the best category. Only after insisting we got a room with a bath. This room was a lot bigger, had a bath but also a technical room next to it, with constant machine and pipe noise. The view was of the parking garage.
We asked for our car to be parked in the garage, they said yes and charged for this. This was a lie, the car was parked outside and after three days covered in bird dirt and tree sap.
Service in the restaurant is slow. There is a problem with spoons. Order soup - no spoon. Ask for one - wait 10 minutes.
Order drinks - nothing. Ask again - still nothing.
Breakfast was overfull, had to wait for a table about 15 minutes. Also no spoons at breakfast.
The spa was very limited. There is an outdoor space, but all doors are closed. The pool is very cold.
