Bob W Akadimia Hotel in Athens

I have stayed at a BoB W before and was very impressed so I booked. Bob W again. Good points - modern approach to hotels stays - good website and staff are quick to respond through the platforms - great location Bad points - broken bathroom tap - empty shower gel - signs of damp on one wall - room G1 is extremely dark with very little natural daylight - room G1 has an external door in the room that opens onto an alleyway - room G1 has a emergency exit sign that lights the room up at night and makes it difficult to get a proper nights sleep

Arrived to a "hotel with every window either shot out or severely smashed. The rooms we are assigned did not exist. We spent an hour trying to reach someone by whats app, email, phone and text but they just kept saying, go to the room. We had to book another hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The hotel is beautiful however the lack of on site or on call staff means that issues that arise are not dealt with. When turned on our room’s air con unit made an extremely loud mechanical noise (equivalent to a lawnmower) that meant sleeping or just being in the room was impossible. Without the air con the room was unbelievably hot in the 32 degree Athens heat. When we contacted customer service we were told there was nothing that could be done until morning and to just sleep with it, I rung the helpline and they could hear the noise over the phone and said the ‘local team’ would help in the morning. We barely slept due to the heat in the room. In the morning we didn’t hear from anyone so contacted them again asking for any kind of help, and they told us that we could have a room change the next day, which meant two nights in a boiling room without aircon. I asked for compensation for this which they did not reply to, we didn’t hear from them again until housekeeping woke us telling us we had to check out. They had not told us we were moving rooms that morning and it was a very confusing exchange with housekeeping (who were very friendly and helpful). We were extremely disappointed in Bob W Athens and would never recommend it to anyone due to the lack of customer service from management.
