Pleasant stay in a hotel with a magnificent, large, Olympic-sized swimming pool. A big thank you to Matthews, nicknamed the King of Stavros, who welcomed us with the friendliness worthy of Crete. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Thanks to Vicky, who prepared breakfast for us, helped by her two sons.
I have only good things to say about this hotel. It is close to the bus station and there are kiosk and restaurants near the hotel. The beach is also near. The personals are very nice and good people very friendly. We felt safe and happy. The pool is very big and the sun beds were nice
Hi Everyone, One of the most enjoyable holidays we have ever experienced. The hotel is breathtakingly gorgeous. The hotel is owned by a family that goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is as exceptional as possible. Additionally, the nearby beach, which is only a five to ten-minute walk away, is fantastic. Although the breakfast was outstanding, there was so much food that we could never...
I only stayed for 2 nights in this quiet hotel. Starting with the staff who were just lovely and helpful right till the very end. I honestly appreciate the breakfast organised for me due to my early departure. Room was nice and of a good size. The breakfast I did manage to enjoy was also very nice. The place was very quiet, the few other guests I met were very pleasant as well. They have a huge pool...
I recommend this hotel for a wonderful service and beautiful clean hotel! Vicky, the manager, is such a pleasant person! The whole staff in general was very nice, polite, and very professional!
We felt right at home. The pools are fantastic, large, and always clean. Stavros beach is within walking distance, just a few minutes away. The staff is wonderful, always kind and ready to help with any need.

The room was indeed spotless and the staff supportive and courteous. The helped with arrangements for local travel and airport transfers seamlessly.
Friendly staff, great location, good breakfast buffet. Would recommend.
Beautiful , historical hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Good breakfast which we enjoyed sat outside in the beautiful garden. Room was also beautiful , cleaned to high standard .
15 minutes walk via scenic coastal route to nearest beach and restaurants. Close to venetian harbour and old town chania
Very clean room, very friendly staff and a super breakfast, will return.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Halepa Hotel. The moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel’s elegant neoclassical style, blending historical charm with modern comfort. The building itself is beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere inside feels warm, welcoming, and truly relaxing.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional—always ready to assist with a smile. From the reception...
Such a beautiful hotel located in perfect location- from old town, beaches and the rest. Suite was gorgeous. Pillows comfy. Breakfast is lovely, Simple and well laid out. Staff are friendly and helpful. Courtyard to have breakfast is so serene and stunning. Possibly the best accomodation for the area and value you receive. Bed a tiny bit hard but not so bad as everything else is comfortable and accomodating...

Would stay again! Great hotel large lovely room, comfortable beds and beautiful view from deck. Really Good complementary breakfast lots of selection. We loved the location so close to waterfront restaurants and nice walk to old town.
Very friendly helpful staff.
Everything was amazing ! I highly recommend this hotel and will be my first choice next time I visit Chania again.
I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. I stayed for 4 nights, with the last night in the suite. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and kept spotless thanks to frequent cleaning. The air conditioning worked well, and the staff were exceptionally pleasant and always ready to help.
The breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options to suit every taste. I also enjoyed the spa — the...
A nice hotel with a pool and SPA near old town Chania with a nice breakfast buffet. You can walk to the old town along the sea. There was a welcome cocktail for every guest. We had a nice stay there for three nights.
Staff accommodated my need to stay an additional night and let me stay in the same sea view room.
Also, the hotel is two blocks from the beach. Very convenient for a swim.
Clean, good condition and friendly staff. Loved our stay here.
The location is very central but at the same time quiet. We went during the low season so might have been lucky regarding that as well.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great cleaning staff! The breakfast was good.
Definitely recommend this hotel.

Very cozy and the view was powerful! My room faced the bay. The crashing of the waves set the mood. The facility was clean, excellent and in the best location. Access was easy. No front desk you just pick up your room key left for you and enjoy your stay. I love that. I had an issue getting in and the customer service was wonderful and helpful. Will definitely return!
Very small hotel close to the beach on the other side of the old town. Not too much services in the hotel. Staff is quick and responsive.
Exactly as advertised. Property was extremely clean & was a great value. Joanna and the rest of the staff were very responsive & accommodating. Easy walk to old town & only steps from the waterfront. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
We were in Chania last year and walked past this property. It looked so interesting, we tracked it down to book it for 2025 and were not disappointed. Waking up to the sea view was wonderful: sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee watching the world go by was even better! The hotel was in a good location with street parking outside, but it was unclear whether it was just for residents. The self-check-in was easy and convenient, but the hallway was very fragrant. I appreciated the comfy bed and good wi-fi. However, the room designs were clearly more for aesthetics than function. Room Cyan The door was heavy, making it difficult to open. Noisy — couldn’t sleep!
Overall the place was nice with a balcony facing the square by the harbor. However, there was loud music from the bar in the square every night and even after the music stopped the noise from the bar was loud. We didn’t sleep for 3 nights and left one night early. Also note that there is no staff onsite ever — this is more like a home rental without amenities than a hotel. ...
Exquisite hotel in the centre of the old town and port in the beautiful town of Chania. Very comfortable, light airy rooms and beautifully decorated with every attention to detail. Good helpful staff. No need to look elsewhere. Perfect for couples or small family.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it to anyone staying close to Old Chania.
Beautiful property and very convenient location to Old Town. The one downside is parking. I read somewhere that the property had parking, but it turned out to not have any. We were lucky enough to find parking nearby when we arrived, but then we didn't want to drive anywhere after that for fear of losing our parking spot. Otherwise, everything with this hotel was great!
The room itself was stunning in design and function. Lovely oasis in the heart of Chania! My only issue was finding the place. For some reason my maps app didn’t like the link sent and I do better with Apple Maps. But I was stressed, it was getting late etc. Manager met me upon arrival and was very kind and helpful and sites to see, gave me a map etc. also directed me to a nearby parking lot where...
If you need a traditional hotel with a lobby, restaurant & etc, this isn't for you. However, if you are looking to try something unique and stay in a once-in-a-lifetime kind of place, then this is for you. Beautiful cosy apartment in the heart of the old town but in a quiet courtyard.
Lovely clean room with a nice patio. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Nice patio space. Great location by the port and archeological sites.
This stay was worth the money. Because of delays in travel we got there almost check in closing time. Alexander was nice enough to wait for us. He was very attentive and made sure our stay went well. He even helped us with parking. Great location as it is just 5 min walk to the harbor with restaurants and shops. If we plan to go back we’ll definitely stay here again.
Best location in Chania! We could walk to city center in minutes. Alex, the manager, loaned me a Hulu g pole to do Samaria Gorge - much appreciated! He found us parking and helped us navigate the city. The room and location are very quiet! Even had a fridge stocked with wine, beer, water, and sodas for us. Great stay!
Perfect location. Alex, who served us, was super kind and helped us with everything. The facilities were very good.
These apartments are set around a quiet courtyard shaded by a large lemon tree. Lovely to relax in on the many tables and chairs, especially on a warm afternoon. We had a ground floor apartment which was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The welcome drinks in the fridge were much appreciated.

Great hotel very close to the old port Great service The hotel offers a breakfast on the roof overlooking the harbour. Excellent hotel overlooking Chania Old Port
Excellent service
Lovely breakfast on the rooftop of the hotel
The hotel holds a few parking spots in front of the hotel
I would recommend this hotel
My only caution is the nightclubs directly below the hotel. The music continues until well past midnight
Brilliant stay. Great location. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Spectacular views from the rooftop terrace.
Beautifully restored building in old Chania. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by Juliana, and “lucky” to get the one parking spot reserved for/by the hotel. Surprisingly, basic stuff missing: no coffee machine, no laundry, no ice, no blackout curtains, sheets far too short for the bed. Every noise from room above echoed into our room. Bed light switches beyond reach. No robes. Airco remote only...

Had a lovely stay at Alcanea in the off season, it’s a great location in Chania Old Town.
Kyriaki couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive with any requests I had for things to do or organising taxis etc.
The building has a lot of character and history
We had a wonderful stay for five days in November. We felt like we were at home not in a hotel. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lighthouse. The hotel’s location is perfect in the old town. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was super helpful. Housekeeping was excellent! We highly recommend the Alcanea and would return in a heartbeat.
Alcanea Boutique Hotel is an absolute gem in Chania! Eva was exceptional, checking in on us when our flight was delayed, providing us with detailed recommendations of restaurants and beaches then following up with us on our return. The location was incredible and the interior and exterior of the 500 year old building provided for such a unique experience. Despite it being an older historical building...
Absolutely lovely place beautifully situated at the beginning of the harbor. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful and the cafe is delightful. A special acknowledgement for Eva, the current manager, who could not have been more pleasant and supremely helpful. Every hotel should have an Eva.
We only stayed one night, but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Eva was so helpful in getting us settled in, setting up a taxi to the airport, truly amazing hospitality. It’s a beautiful building with great views of the harbour. Can’t beat the location either!
This is a charming and beautiful hotel in a perfect location to soak up the city and the waterfront. The staff were super friendly and comfortable, the rooms were designed beautifully and were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Thumbs up’

We absolutely loved our stay at Captain Vasilis Hotel in Chania Old Town! The room with a balcony was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had a stunning view of the harbor. The location couldn’t be better — just a few minutes’ walk to parking, restaurants, and all the highlights of Old Town.

Stayed upstairs in a room with a balcony in late June/July and had a lovely time. Beautiful views and close to everything but set back enough (although depending on the wind you’ll hear the late-night bars across the harbour). Vasilis is very laid back and gave us some good recs. Sorted out my lost key card quickly. Parking in town wasn’t as bad as I expected except if you look for a spot late at night
Excellent experience, we enjoyed so much the location as well as the amazing service in Captain Vasilis. And the room was so pretty! Definitely recommend
Highly recommend! The location was amazing.. short walk to everything, including the parking area outside of the old town. Great communication prior to our stay and met with a friendly face. Very affordable, extremely happy...
Very authentic small hotel inside the old town and on a quiet street. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The owner Vasilis was friendly and kind Person. Breafkast made fresh every morning from local products. Restaurants and sandy beach on a walking distance. This place was a perfect base to explore Chania.
Excellent hotel run by the owner. He did everything and made our stay enjoyable, Vasilis provided great recommendations for where to visit and eat. But one standout is just how beautiful the hotel is and where it is located. You are front and center over the water and staying in the hotel takes you back in time. Living in old town is where you want to be and this is the best hotel to do that. Everything...

This is a lovely hotel in the old town of Chania very near the square next to the harbour. Access is via beautiful stone steps next to a marble carving of a lion (annoyingly I can't upload photos) alongside an Italian restaurant, entrance on first floor. Very very pretty setting.

This is a wonderful small hotel in the heart of Chania old town. If you choose a room with a sea view you are rewarded with a wonderful view of the Venetian Harbour. We were lucky enough to have a roof top patio with shade as part of our suite. Fantastic hotel. Room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is highly recommended for €10.
Perfect location on the port, close to all local restaurants and bars. Will happily stay there again.
As a solo female traveler I felt safe, comfortable and cared for by the staff. Even though my vacation didn’t go as planned, this hotel and its team stayed a safe heaven for me. This hotel is perfectly located in the center of Chania’s old town. Just a heads-up: the entrance is on the first floor, above a restaurant, but it does have a sign at street level, so it’s easy to find. Located centrally, this hotel is stunning. Parking can be a bit tricky if you are used to North American style car garages, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. Breakfast was incredible as well.
Clean, beautiful rooms in a great location, with a few drawbacks.
Drawbacks:
- Heating/cooling: The building only supports one or the other. We were here on hot days and the fan was blowing hot air only.
- Slow WiFi
- Parking: limited spots in their parking lot, street parking was difficult and confusing, we came back to 4 parking tickets on our windshield
Positives:

Great hotel, nice staff and very clean. Park next door, very noisy! Band played until 11:30pm.
The hotel is very nice and clean. Breakfast was good, and we really liked the lovely inner terrace – it’s a nice spot to eat and relax. The rooms were very clean, though a bit small, but cozy. The only downside is that there was no storage space (at least not in our room), so we had to keep our clothes in the suitcase.

The Contessa hotel is perfectly located! It's 1 min from the port. Close to the buss station if switching cities. The room is cute and comfortable.
We were two women staying for just one night. We parked closeby and walked to Greco hotel and were received by Anna. The check in was easy and she walked us over to the Boutique hotel. Our key card didn't work, so we had to have her come back and fix that for us but it was easy.
Our room was stunning. TALL hand painted ceilings, tall windows, a large bed, armoir, fridge, safe, desk, and large bathroom...
The staff upgraded us to a room with a view for no extra charge (thank you!!). This was the most beautiful room we stayed in during our time in Greece. Beautifully renovated, clean, and within walking distance to the harbor. We wished we could’ve stayed longer!
Lovely room and beautiful location. Comfortable bed. Shower pressure great. Air con worked. But if you value sleep do not stay here. Very noisy building. When other guests come in the sound echoes. Doors alarming. Guests coming in and out all night. Hard floors means someone walking above sounds like an elephant. Other guests allowed cats in which screamed all night outside the room.
The staff is extremely helpful! Everything was taken care of. I had to switch rooms in middle of my stay as I extended my trip and they moved my stuff from one room to another while I was out so it was a seamless transition. Location is absolutely perfect.

My family loved this hotel. Everything is 5-stars in my book. If I could give 10 stars, I would give it to the staff. One example of why I feel this was is that we had to depart at about 4:00am. They made sure we had breakfast boxes that we could take with us. They woke up early to make this happen. We were all touched by their caring service.
The hotel is one minute walking from the harbour but still in a very quiet area. The rooms are big and confortable with a nice bathroom. The cherry on the top of the cake was the staff, all very friendly. Strongly recommend this hotel. And after being there i discovered that this was an historical building throughout the years.
We've recently returned from a lovely ten-day stay in this charming hotel. The location is perfect, just two minutes from the harbour front with its bars and restaurants. Wonderful quirky room in great location. Initially we were in a room with main bed on a mezzanine level but stairs not good for old arthritic knees so they let us change rooms. Spacious rooms, visibly clean, beautifully decorated exactly like the pictures on here! impressed by the atmosphere! Perfect location for vacation. Absolutely, quintessential little stay. Extremely polite, clean, and accommodating. More importantly, it is truly a VERY quiet sleeping experience...even with rooms right next to you and a party raging below your window. Loved the little pub downstairs for night caps. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was amazing! Great choice, fresh and generous portions. A couple of days we had early departures and George arrange for a takeaway breakfast option for us. I also needed laundry and George...
Absolutely stunning place, suites are very beautiful, very comfortable bed, very clean.Very highly recommended to stay there, truly worthed.Breakfast are included at the restaurant.Portions are so big not even funny. We did book the suite without any known how it was going to be,but we found absolute gem.
We stayed at one of the suits for 3 nights, everything was super clean and we had everything we needed! The owner really helped us out with everything we needed and the breakfast was really good and tasty too! Definitely we look forward for next time!
We loved the beautiful room and the house restaurant - steps away- food was amazing- George was the greatest host - so welcoming and warm- we would stay here again! Parking is confusing the first time- George was so patient and stayed with us via text until we arrived-
Great modern well located boutique hotel. Georges is great answering all our questions. The breakfast restaurant across is remarkable.
Room is big, with a balcony, fantastic shower.
Highly recommended

The hotel was new, clean and at a very good location 5-10 mins walk from the old harbour.
The hotel had magnificent views overlooking the sea of sunrise and sunset from the infinity pool at the roof.
Breakfast was fine and all of the staff were so friendly anf helpful. The staff also went above and beyond to assist me and make calls for me when I had issues with my booked tour.
They even gave...
The room isn't huge but it's perfectly fine and very comfortable. It's clean, and the service is great. The absolute highlight of this hotel is the breakfast – it's incredibly delicious!
Excellent stay.
The staff is very helpful and full of recommandations. The view from the room is very beautiful as the pool on the roof top. Rooms are clean.
Large breakfast choice with local dishes.

SanSal and the employees provides exceptional service. The rooms and the view where clean and modern. The food at the pool bar was very reasonable and tasty. I will definitely be back to this hotel.
It's not a very big hotel, with six or seven floors and four or five rooms on each floor. The room faces the sea, the view is great, and I fall asleep every night listening to the sound of the waves. The facilities in the room are average, the service is in place, the location is a little remote, and the facilities nearby are average, but it's a ten-minute walk to a relatively prosperous place, overall...

The location was great - nearly in the middle of Chania and within walking distance of the old town and the port. The service was great, with the staff really trying to be very helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Parking was interesting tho, but the staff helped heaps to ensure that we could arrive and leave without too much fuss. The rooms were quite roomy and the beds comfy.
Great place to stay in Chania. Service was impeccable and thanks to Bena, Maria, Likourgos and George for their hospitality and awesome advice on things to do (and avoid).
Stay in the top floor penthouse if you can. Amazing apartment like room with two HUGE private rooftop patios. Free morning breakfast was great and easy walking distance to Old Town. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed at Samaria Hotel for four nights as a couple with a toddler, and the experience was simply wonderful. The hotel is charming with a perfect location, everything is spotless and sparkling clean. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, making the stay very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, generous, and delicious. Above all, the staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and warm...
Brilliant hotel, located so close to the old town and harbour but just those few steps away so it feels calm and quiet.
Rooms clean and facilities well thought out, breakfast was incredible!
But the thing that made our trip was the welcome of all the staff, they couldn't do enough to accommodate us and every single team member was friendly and helpful. Outstanding service that really made the trip...
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Chaina, Greece! Unlike our experiences elsewhere, we were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel at home.
The service was excellent—everyone went out of their way to help us and make sure we had a great time. On top of that, the breakfast was absolutely amazing, with a fantastic variety...
We have just returned home from a two week holiday in Chania.
The Samaria Hotel was great!
The location was perfect, we could walk into the Old Town/Harbour in 10 mins. The buses were very handy.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice
The swimming pool was small for the size of the hotel, but we were okay with this.
The one thing we did not like...

Superb holel in great location. Very professional, friendly and helpful staff who provide excellent service in all departments. Allways willing to go the extra effors to be helpful and provide a service.
Great value for money. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and everything was perfect. The breakfast was also very good.
Everything was good, perfect location.
A very nice hotel with a good location, great value for money, and decent service. It's only 500 meters from the lighthouse and the old town.
The location is excellent and travel is very convenient. The bus station is within a 3-minute walk. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. But the rooms facing the street are a bit noisy
The Morum at Chania room was very clean. Even though a little too small, we managed. The washroom very small with no shelf to leave your everyday personal items, making it a little difficult especially when you are there for 8 nights. Reception staff especially Mikel & Vicky, all amazing, very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was more than plenty and delicious and the staff, Nicollet...
