Samaria Hotel in Chania Town

A very aesthetically pleasing hotel with all modern amenities and the atmosphere of another era.... Very kind and warm staff. Impeccably clean.... In the very center of Chania...

We're here for 5 nights and so far, we have no complaints. The location is beautiful, the cleanliness is impeccable, the breakfast is very varied and, of course, of high quality, and the prices are in line with a 4-star hotel. I highly recommend it.

The location was great - nearly in the middle of Chania and within walking distance of the old town and the port. The service was great, with the staff really trying to be very helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Parking was interesting tho, but the staff helped heaps to ensure that we could arrive and leave without too much fuss. The rooms were quite roomy and the beds comfy.

Great place to stay in Chania. Service was impeccable and thanks to Bena, Maria, Likourgos and George for their hospitality and awesome advice on things to do (and avoid).

Stay in the top floor penthouse if you can. Amazing apartment like room with two HUGE private rooftop patios. Free morning breakfast was great and easy walking distance to Old Town. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at Samaria Hotel for four nights as a couple with a toddler, and the experience was simply wonderful. The hotel is charming with a perfect location, everything is spotless and sparkling clean. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, making the stay very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, generous, and delicious. Above all, the staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and warm. We are already counting the days until our next visit. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

Brilliant hotel, located so close to the old town and harbour but just those few steps away so it feels calm and quiet.

Rooms clean and facilities well thought out, breakfast was incredible!

But the thing that made our trip was the welcome of all the staff, they couldn't do enough to accommodate us and every single team member was friendly and helpful. Outstanding service that really made the trip! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Chaina, Greece! Unlike our experiences elsewhere, we were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel at home.

The service was excellent—everyone went out of their way to help us and make sure we had a great time. On top of that, the breakfast was absolutely amazing, with a fantastic variety and delicious flavors.

We highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

We have just returned home from a two week holiday in Chania.
The Samaria Hotel was great!
The location was perfect, we could walk into the Old Town/Harbour in 10 mins. The buses were very handy.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice
The swimming pool was small for the size of the hotel, but we were okay with this.
The one thing we did not like was t
he shower. Although the shower was hot and powerful, it wasn't wall mounted at a high level in the bath, which made it hard to shower without splashing water everywhere. The room itself was clean and comfortable.
We would return if we came back to Chania.

Location:
Perfectly situated away from the heavy crowds, yet close enough to easily walk to all the action. While it borders the main bus depot, the serene garden—with its pool and waterfall—effectively blocks both the view and the noise, creating a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere.

Breakfast:
A delicious spread combining continental staples with authentic Cretan delicacies. A great way to start the day.

Service:
Front desk and valet staff are attentive and welcoming. However, the restaurant service could use improvement—it was often difficult to find a server, as if they were hiding out in the kitchen.

Rooms:
Spacious and comfortable—something you rarely find in accommodations right on the harbor. This location outside the harbor core really pays off in terms of room size.

Bonus:
Live piano music in the evenings adds a charming touch to the ambiance.

They went ABOVE and Beyond, the pictures don't do it justice. The staff, food, amenities, a few minute walking distance to old town. What ever you need they are one step ahead. Calling for a car, directions to packing us a togo bag when we left early to catch a ferry to the next island. We went with our 11 year old, I wouldn't say it's set up to "entertain" kids but he had a wonderful time, the pool was his favorite. Would go back again.
