Had a lovely stay at Alcanea in the off season, it’s a great location in Chania Old Town.

Kyriaki couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive with any requests I had for things to do or organising taxis etc.

The building has a lot of character and history

We had a wonderful stay for five days in November. We felt like we were at home not in a hotel. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lighthouse. The hotel’s location is perfect in the old town. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was super helpful. Housekeeping was excellent! We highly recommend the Alcanea and would return in a heartbeat.

Alcanea Boutique Hotel is an absolute gem in Chania! Eva was exceptional, checking in on us when our flight was delayed, providing us with detailed recommendations of restaurants and beaches then following up with us on our return. The location was incredible and the interior and exterior of the 500 year old building provided for such a unique experience. Despite it being an older historical building the rooms were updated with great amenities. I’d recommend this to anyone, the best place we stayed on our Europe travels!

Absolutely lovely place beautifully situated at the beginning of the harbor. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful and the cafe is delightful. A special acknowledgement for Eva, the current manager, who could not have been more pleasant and supremely helpful. Every hotel should have an Eva.

We only stayed one night, but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Eva was so helpful in getting us settled in, setting up a taxi to the airport, truly amazing hospitality. It’s a beautiful building with great views of the harbour. Can’t beat the location either!

This is a charming and beautiful hotel in a perfect location to soak up the city and the waterfront. The staff were super friendly and comfortable, the rooms were designed beautifully and were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Thumbs up’

Quaint and lovely!
This amazing quaint hotel on the waterfront was just what we needed! A welcome surprise for first-time visitors to Chania. It had a lovely historic feel with alcoves, patios, windows, and beautiful views. The breakfast was delicious and the room was tidy and spacious and quiet. Decorations were reminiscent of an old villa. And the staff were so attentive and lovely! Highly recommend!

We have stayed at the Alcanea in Chania several times, and also in many different rooms. The hotel is unique whit its old wooden floors, the tall windows and the airy rooms with several meters up to the ceilings. But all the bathrooms are modern and stylish, and nicely fitted into the old rooms. The old quiet atmosphere is very special and nice!
Returning to the Alcanea and being warmly welcomed by Eva, is a gift!

Probably the best hotel in Chania. The location is perfect, and the atmosphere is beautifully designed with great attention to detail. We were impressed from the very beginning. The building, just like the lovely receptionist, is 500 years old, and everywhere you can find secret doors. Thank you for everything, and we hope to see you again someday. Romantic holiday
We are so glad we booked this small hotel. In the end of the harbor with great location and view over the lighthouse and the city. The staff was so friendly and you could tell they loved the hotel. The house is old But very charming and many old details are still there. We loved the room, it was clean, very comfortable bed, the bathroom was nicely decorated. If you looking for a small hotel with lots of love and style you should definitely book this!
