We had a lovely stay at Byzantino Hotel. It is a very different experience due to the location being within the old castle town ruins. Our only minus is the sewage piping in the rooms which have a damp and mouldy smell. It was not just our room. There are also a couple of places where the outside steps should have a railing as it is very dangerous for us older ages.

Stayed at this property recently and had a very solid overall experience. The hotel is comfortable, well-maintained, and delivers exactly what it promises. Rooms are clean, functional, and designed with practicality in mind, making the stay easy and stress-free.

Service was efficient and professional, with staff responsive when needed but not intrusive. The overall environment feels organized and reliable, which is critical when traveling.

Location is convenient, allowing easy access to key areas, and the general facilities are in good condition.

When I called to ask for any vacancies, the receptionist was very polite and informed me that there was a room available but the bathroom was small. She made sure to show us beforehand when we arrived, which was honest and professional. We were greeted at the main entrance to the castle to help with our luggage. The room was clean, warm and cosy. We felt right at home. The breakfast was delicious and they offer a wide variety of fresh food and sweets. Great hospitality. We would definitely book again.

We recently stayed at the Byzantino Boutique Hotel while visiting Monemvasia, and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. Our room was cozy and well-appointed, with a traditional touch. During our stay, we enjoyed the rich breakfast which included local products – a perfect way to start the day. The location couldn't be better; close to the castle entrance and all the shops and restaurants in the area, although during our stay only one or two were open. I highly recommend checking out this hotel if you’re planning a trip to Monemvasia. I’ll certainly be back

Amazing place to stay. Park outside Monemvasia for free. We just took an overnight bag and left the suitcase in the car. Reception very close to the old town entrance, go there to check in and then you are taken to your room, ours was a short walk through the town, the streets are narrow and steps quite steep, but when we got to our room it was an amazing view looking over the town. A comfortable bed, coffee and tea available. Perfect location for both walking up to the old castle and walking into the town. Breakfast is served back near reception in the town, a delicious array of everything you can possibly think of, delicious. Friendly staff. A must if you decide to stay in Monemvasia.

Super friendly and helpful people at reception. We had a room close to the main street with a great view from the terrace over the buildings below to the sea and also to the upper town. Be prepared for parking a car on the road to the town walls and then walking in maybe 100 feet to their office. The rooms are in many small building, not at the office. The nice breakfast was at another (convenient) nice location. This is a fun, interesting town to visit.

Well, this was a bit special; actually staying within the ancient walls of Monemvasia. The room was not very well lit and really quirky, as you might expect from such an ancient place. However, it had everything we needed and the entire town oozed character. The guy who helped us with our bags was a superhuman, who put one suitcase on a shoulder and carried the other with his hand! A special mention must go to the reception staff who were particularly friendly, kind and helpful.

The room was ideally located across from the town square and not too far from the main gate. We had ample room for the two of us. The breakfast, included, was sumptuous and there were ample choices. The standout for us was the hotel staff. Hercules (yes, his real name) transported both of our 30-plus pound bags on each of his shoulders to our room and then back to the main gate after our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Monemvasia, Europe’s continuously habituated castle town since it was founded in 583 AD.

The worst experience I ever had with a hotel. The room was not even close to the photos that are available. Very dirty, there was an intense smell that they tried to hide by spaying perfume at bed sheets as I understand. At the bathroom there was even worse smell of humidity and 2 big cockroaches 🪳. Also my husband’s back is full of bites from bed bugs. As for
me I couldn’t sleep all night because I was feeling insects biting me not to mention the stress I had for the presence of cockroaches. The breakfast was awful. I don’t recommend staying there for any reason.
