Summerland Hotel & Bungalows in Ialyssos

Terrible experience – avoid this hotel at all costs! 🆘ALERT VIOLENT STAFF🆘

I stayed at Rhodos Summerland Hotel and Bungalows, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

The rooms were dirty, worn out, and falling apart. There were insects all over the room, and the bathroom was in a shocking condition – the shower was broken, the glass shelf was barely hanging on the wall, and everything felt unsafe and unhygienic.

The food was extremely poor, with very limited options. They didn’t even have something as simple as French fries available for purchase.

The staff were unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Many guests, including myself, were extremely dissatisfied with the service. The staff spoke in a disrespectful manner and enforced ridiculous rules that made no sense. For example, I was allowed to use my swimming goggles and a nose clip, but my travel partner was not allowed to use a diving mask that also covered the nose. On another occasion, my travel partner was shouted at for rinsing off with shampoo in an outdoor shower after checkout – even though this shower was far away from the pool area and no other facilities were available to us.

On my last day, things escalated to a shocking level. When I confronted the manager and explained that the treatment we had received was completely unacceptable, she screamed at me and called me a liar. Suddenly, one of her cleaning staff tried to physically attack me. She attempted to rip my suitcase from my hands, threatened to punch me, and actually hit me in the stomach. I had to push her away in self-defense while the manager repeatedly tried to hold her back. At one point, she even attempted to spit at me and later tried to grab a metal trash can to use as a weapon against me.

This was witnessed by several other guests, and I even have video evidence of the incident. Despite this, the hotel is trying to deny that it ever happened.

I have never in my life experienced anything so shocking and unprofessional at a hotel. Not only is the place run-down and dirty, but the staff are aggressive, abusive, and unsafe to be around.
