Albatros Hotel in Karterados

This was a nice family-owned hotel on a road just off the main road going to Fira. It is a 1-minute walk to the main road to catch the convenient buses. The breakfast was OK, pool is nice, rooms are decent and with balconies, staff are friendly, rooms made up daily.

It is located in the walking distance from the public bus on the street as well as the hub in Fira. People are very nice and breakfast is good.

Good experience

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews of this place. We have zero issues with the room, It's clean, everything works, the AC is very recent so it works quietly, there's a large fridge in the room which is very uncommon for a hotel room but it's a god sent to cool your water and other beverages. The room itself is also spacious and in good condition. Yes the shower is on the small side, but I'm 194cm and I can manage. The breakfast selection is also fine. The pool area is nice and maintained.

It was ok. Manager was friendly and helpful but they offered breakfast and the food wasn’t good and the kitchen service wasn’t helpful. The hotel is at a great location.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff, lovely clean rooms and great pool complex. Would stay here again.

The location is not good
It is about 1.5km to the main bus stop, so you have to walk up a slight hill
The staff at this hotel are very bright and friendly
There are no problems with the people, but the facilities are old
I understand that they are putting in effort in management, but there is a limit
The air conditioner is noisy and seems to have little life left
The breakfast is edible

The parts that were really hard to endure or that I don't understand were
1. The SIM card and the Wi-Fi didn't work in the room
I couldn't do anything
I understand why people were in the lobby
The next day, I checked in at another hotel nearby, but the Wi-Fi worked
I was so shocked that it didn't work in my room either
2. I don't know the standard for amenities
After checking in, I checked that there was no toothbrush or toothpaste
It was almost midnight, so I went to the lobby
But there was no one there to manage it, so I waited for more than 10 minutes and they didn't come
I was looking around so much, and another guest, an old man, asked why and
I said I needed a toothbrush and toothpaste, so I told him to go to the supermarket and buy them Came
I went to take off my clothes and went in to shower, but there was no body wash??
There was only shampoo and body lotion
There are many hotels that do not provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, so I understand
But this is the first time I've seen a case where there was only shampoo and body lotion and no body wash
I even thought that the amenities were samples
I felt very bad and I took two showers with shampoo
3. The shower space for one person is too small
Big men can't shower
It's too small even if it's small
4. There was something that I don't know if it was men's underwear or shorts wandering around on the terrace
I don't know who it was, but I don't understand why there was something like that there.

We had a wonderful stay at Albatros Hotel in Karterados, Santorini! The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay special. Special thanks to Bana & Maria!! The breakfast buffet was delicious and the pool area was relaxing and very beautifully decorated. The location was perfect for exploring the village and accessing the beaches and attractions of Santorini. We highly recommend Albatros Hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful island!

The hotel is well located, 2 minutes from the bus stop and 15 minutes walk from Fira, the capital. Nice, clean hotel, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and air conditioning. The pool and its surroundings are a real relaxation area, where we often rested after swimming. The staff is friendly, especially the two receptionists Maria and Bana. Every day they were interested in our programmes and were happy to answer our questions. Their attitude made the place feel like a family. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. We were completely satisfied, would love to come back again. We would recommend it to everyone.
