Everything was amazing

We had a fabulous 4 night stay at Matild Palace! Nikoletta in Guest Services was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed (thank you again for the upgrade Nikoletta!!).

All the staff were so very nice. The breakfast is the best I’ve had in over 1,000 Marriott nights. The Spago breakfast included many unique and house-made items that made breakfast memorable.

The hotel is gorgeous and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches. As a lifetime Titanium member, this is a hotel I will want to revisit on future trips to Budapest.

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The place is very clean and wonderful. The customer service and staff are friendly and attentive, and very keen on guest satisfaction. Their location is excellent and close to most landmarks. Their English is excellent. I only wish the rooms were a little bigger. I would definitely repeat the experience. 💕

My stay at Matild Palace was nothing short of exceptional - true luxury in every sense of the word. I travel often and stay in many hotels around the world, and this property genuinely stands out as one of the best experiences I’ve had.

From the moment I arrived, everything was handled with absolute professionalism. I had a small misunderstanding with my room reservation, and the reception team resolved it quickly and gracefully. Not only did they ensure I received the room type I originally booked - including the bathtub that was so important to me during cold winter nights - but they even upgraded me to a room with a balcony and a beautiful city view. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made my stay even more special.

The room itself was stunning: spacious, impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and truly-luxurious. The bathroom felt like a private spa — elegant, calming, and absolutely perfect after returning from a concert. Every detail was carefully curated, from the lighting to the colors to the layout.
In the evening, housekeeping left a thoughtful little “good night” arrangement beside my bed with slippers and a lip balm, which was such a sweet touch.

I also visited the hotel’s spa, which was a wonderful experience. It’s quiet, spotless, and beautifully designed, with a relaxation room, herbal teas, fruits, water, a hammam, and both dry and steam saunas. I didn’t try the massage services this time, but I definitely will on my next visit.

Both check-in and check-out were smooth and friendly. The receptionist was warm and kind, even chatting with me about the concert I attended and sharing a bit about her work. As a solo traveler, these small human moments mean a lot — they turn a stay into a memory.

And then… the rooftop bar.
Even though I didn’t have time to sit for a drink, I went up to take a look — and I’m so glad I did. I was welcomed by an incredibly charming, professional, and kind staff member who gave me a full tour of the space, showed me the breathtaking Danube view, told me about their cocktails and events, and even shared some stories about life in Budapest. As someone who works in event productions, I really appreciated how knowledgeable he was and the pride he takes in his work.
I wish I remembered his name, but I’m sure anyone who meets him will instantly know who I’m talking about — he is a true gem and a perfect representative of what luxury hospitality should be.

The location is also ideal - central, convenient, and absolutely beautiful.

Matild Palace meets every standard of a true luxury hotel, and I genuinely cannot wait to return!!!.
My stay was relaxing, elegant, warm, and unforgettable.

For a luxurious, 5* hotel experience in Budapest, look no further than the Matild Palace hotel. The architectural and design team deserve a medal of the highest order for the scale and level of detail that is evident everywhere in their creation of this magnificent, opulent establishment.

My wife and I spent 4-nights at the fabulous Matild Palace hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We would like to thank the staff for their wonderfully helpful and cheerful hospitality in making our anniversary such a memorable one.

The entire hotel is beautifully maintained, luxuriously appointed and decorated to an exceptional standard with intricate details everywhere. (The Four Seasons might have the advantage of location, but there, the rooms are dated and tired in comparison).

Finally, my wife and would like to especially mention some staff members who were outstanding in their service to us:
Gyorgy at reception, for your delightful manner.
Nicolette at reception, for your most understanding and accommodating approach.
Oliver at the Duchess, for your positive energy and being every bit the master of your craft a phenomenal bar like the Duchess deserves.
And last but not least, Samdar for his courteous, caring and professional manner where no job ever seems too big or too small.
You are all a credit to the Matild Palace and I hope that your corporate management appreciate you for what you do. You all are the real faces who successfully embody the brand that they are trying to sell.

The best location in Budapest! Close to everything, you don’t need any transportation.
Staff are very nice and the breakfast is wonderful.

The room is luxur, esp.bathroom. The location is excellent, near metro. For breakfast, there is buffet line and a la cart menu. On weekend, the BF room is quite busy, It might take time for a cup of coffee served at your table.

Fantastic hotel. Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Recognised my Marriott status, upgraded my room and accommodated LATE checkout.

They even set up the room with a cake, balloon & champagne for our anniversary.

Don’t get me started on the breakfast. Probably the best buffet I’ve seen. Beautiful resturant and the bar upstairs at the duchess is stunning, great for an evening drink.

Most beautiful, luxurious and well ran hotel me and my wife have ever stayed at. The attention to details they put into your stay to personalize your experience brought me and my wife to tears as this was a trip for our baby-moon. They greeted us in our room with a handwritten note, baby shoes and a onesie for our newest addition to our family with an incredible slice of chocolate cake. The staff was distinguished and extremely attentive always willing to go the extra mile, the restaurant and bar (the Dutches) were impeccable and nothing can match that view of the palace hill on Buda side. I could go on all day, breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel with incredible variety and again staff was just amazing, 10/10 service and experience from top to bottom at this hotel. CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!
