Danubius Hotel Arena in Budapest

Nice and comfortable place to stay.

The hot water was inconsistent, the hairdryer was too weak, and the facilities were old.

For Standard in general o.k.
More information regarding parking posibilities would be helpful.

Great value for money! The only downside is that the parking facilities could be improved.

I have stayed at Danubius chain in Budapest before, Helia which is a spa hotel. This is more of a business location being beside the Puskas Arena and the M2 subway line and the 1 Tram line which gives multiple transit options if not using a hire vehicle or taxi. Breakfast was very decent, service attentive and professional. The room was clean with a few minor issues ie bathtub not draining quickly, furniture showing age (I understand so not an issue) and the facilities very good for my purpose - large gym with all required equipment, smaller pool but still permitted laps and a sauna all of which I used each day. As my last day had me leaving before breakfast, I was provided with a takeaway bag. All much appreciated. Front desk very helpful and kind. I enjoyed my stay very much.

This is great hotel with best service and an excellent brakefast. Good gym and sauna. Room is nice. Its far from the city but the hotel is close to metro station and also the shpooing mall arena is close by 10 mins walk.

Good hotel. Area is a bit dodgy (Arena still has plenty of Keleti area homeless people), though it is well connected with M2 metro station right outside. Good breakfast. Good gym. Water facilities so-so: drainage in room shower slow, swimming pool/sauna not the most fresh looking. Overall recommended if price is right.

I am not demanding and therefore the hotel suited me. The room was always clean, the beds too. Breakfast perfect. The position is perfect for exploring Budapest.

This is my third time staying at this hotel.
The location is absolutely brilliant – right next to the tube, and the red line is super convenient for getting around. That’s always been a big plus and one of the main reasons I keep coming back.

However, there are a few issues that made this stay less comfortable.
The Wi-Fi was very unstable, which was quite inconvenient for someone like me who needs to work and is often in online meetings.
The gym and swimming pool had an overpowering smell of disinfectant, which made it quite unpleasant to use those facilities.

This time, I’m not sure if it was due to a competition or just bad luck, but I ended up on the same floor as a group tour. From around 5 or 6 in the morning, I could constantly hear doors opening and closing, which made it clear that the soundproofing isn’t great – the doors might be too thin. I stayed for four nights and barely got any proper sleep.

That said, the staff were lovely – very professional and friendly.
The breakfast was clean and fine, but exactly the same every day. So after a few days, I honestly didn’t feel like eating it anymore.

Overall, I’d still recommend this hotel, mainly for its excellent location and good service. But I do think it would make a huge difference if you could invest in thicker doors or better insulation to improve the noise situation.
