We have just got back from 7 nights in this hotel.I would rate it as a 3 star rather than 4.The room safe didn't work and was never repaired even though I asked the receptionist 3 times. The towels were clean but grey when they should have been white. The room was very clean .Although the hotel is situated on a busy road, with the windows closed, there was no noise. We could have done with more electrical sockets and milk would have been a nice touch seeing as there were coffee/tea making facilities. The staff were pleasant and mostly helpful. The breakfast was adequate and well stocked.Although the public transport was very close by,we would stay in Pest the next time.

Hotel absolutely not worthy of 4 stars 2 at best. The welcome was friendly; the lady was accommodating and spoke English. The hotel is close to all public transport that takes you to tourist spots in 10–15 minutes. The room was clean and convenient but old, and above all extremely noisy, horrible! The windows are not double-glazed, and the room faces a busy main street with trams passing by all the time. It’s a nightmare. I definitely do not recommend this place.

Another great stay at the Hotel Mediterran. As always friendly, helpful and professional German/English speaking staff at the Reception. Clean room, this time a little bit noisy because it was on the first floor, with two comfortable beds, bathroom with a large bathtub etc. Good and stable Wi-Fi. Close to Moricz Zsigmond körter, Budapest Kelenföld Railway station etc. Tram and bus stop just a few steps away.

I booked this hotel quite a while ago and stayed for 4 nights. The location was good, not right in the city center, but with a bus stop and tram stop just nearby. The room was spacious, had AC, and the breakfast was quite good. Overall, good value for money. There was a bit of noise, but with earplugs and an eye mask, it was fine.

One thing, though, one of the breakfast ladies seemed to enjoy keeping a close eye on guests while they were eating, which for me took away from that relaxed vacation vibe. I understand this might just be her way of doing her job, but on the second morning, she told me that if I took a banana out, I’d be charged for an extra breakfast. I found that pretty amusing and told her I’d just finish it there. But I couldn’t help thinking if I were to eat it while walking out, how would that be counted?

Even more interestingly, the next morning a different breakfast lady was on duty, and she was very nice, we saw another guest take an apple right in front of her and leave, so clearly there was no actual policy about charging guests extra for that. Especially since we were just 2 women who didn’t eat that much, and after traveling in Europe for dozens of days, we’d never encountered such treatment before.

All in all, a rather curious experience.

I booked this hotel quite a while ago for four nights. Good location, near tram and bus stop, fair price, nice room, and good breakfast. However, one of the breakfast ladies seemed to keep a rather close watch on guests while they were eating, which made it a bit hard to fully feel that “on vacation” ease. At one point, she told me that if I took a banana out, I’d be charged for an extra breakfast — a new concept for me. I said I’d just finish it there, though I couldn’t help but wonder, if I nibbled on it while walking out, would that count?

Interestingly, the next morning, the other breakfast lady was really nice. We even saw other guests take apples right in front of her and leave, so clearly there was no policy about charging for an extra breakfast.

I have been in Europe for 40 days and never saw a place treat guests like this, so a slightly more relaxed approach would be appreciated, especially as we didn’t really eat that much to begin with.

Normal hotel, far from city on the Buda side.
The towels at the hotel were old and had an unpleasant odor, and the hot water in the shower didn’t last long. On the bright side, the breakfast was quite good.

The hotel's location is quite remote, requiring multiple transfers on public transportation from the airport. The nearest small shopping mall is over ten minutes' walk away. My flight arrived in the morning, but I couldn't check in early and had to wait until 2 p.m. A more flexible check-in time would have been a better experience.

The room facilities appeared dated, and the lack of a power outlet near the bed was inconvenient. I stayed on the top floor, the fifth, but the road noise was still very noticeable. The soundproofing and light-blocking were both subpar. While the bathroom had excellent water pressure and hot water, the towels were clearly stained from years of use. The breakfast selection was limited and average.

This hotel's experience completely defies its 4-star rating. Overall, the value for money is poor, and I wouldn't stay there again.

Quick access to the city center, about 20 minutes. Friendly, clean rooms, and friendly staff. The only downside is that the bathtub could be replaced with a shower. Breakfast is a very decent buffet.

Although the hotel isn't in the city center, public transportation is very convenient, and the staff are very friendly. It's a pretty good hotel.
