Verdi Budapest Aquincum in Budapest

The hotel was quite cold for the two weeks of my stay due to a technical issue. Unfortunately, the spa area—which was the main reason I chose this hotel—was also too cold to fully enjoy.

The hotel itself is old, with dated furniture and very basic amenities, but everything was clean. There’s nothing particularly special about the place, however it offers decent value for the money.

Our stay at The Aquincum Hotel Budapest – Verdi Budapest Aquincum was truly wonderful. We spent 5 days there and enjoyed every moment. The hotel is very cozy and located in the Buda part of the city, in an excellent area. With just one means of public transport, you can reach the city center in about 5–10 minutes, which is very convenient.
The spa area is amazing — the pools have different temperatures and offer great relaxation. The jacuzzi is very enjoyable, and the saunas complete the whole spa experience perfectly. On our last day, we were even able to use the spa after check-out, which was a great way to end our stay.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. One of the pillows did not give us confidence, so we asked for it to be changed, and the response was outstanding. Before we even finished breakfast, all the bed linens had already been changed. Very fast and professional service.
The reception staff were extremely kind, friendly, and always helpful. Special thanks to Sercan A., who was exceptionally polite, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay.
We would gladly stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, relaxation, and a great location in Budapest.

The place looks good for family and friends.

The hotel is pretty good, and the breakfast is decent. The heating in the room works well too. It has that vibe of an older domestic hotel. You can get to the city center and tourist attractions directly by taking the H5 light rail, which only takes about ten minutes.

The hotel has excellent access to the city center, which I consider a big advantage. There is a tram and a train nearby, making transportation to the center easy and fast.

The hotel itself looks nice and well maintained; however, the rooms would benefit from a small renovation. The biggest disappointment for us was the wellness area. During the first two days of our stay, the water in both the pools and the hot tub was cold, as well as the temperature in the wellness area, which was only around 20–21 °C. This did not feel pleasant, especially if you wanted to warm up after coming back from outside. We reported the issue at the reception, but we did not receive any specific explanation, only reassurance that it should be working. The wellness area was fully functional only on the third day of our stay, which was disappointing as we had planned to use it more.

On the other hand, the breakfast was absolutely excellent. The selection was very rich and the quality was outstanding – among the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. This was a very positive aspect of our stay.

Overall, the stay was nice, but the wellness services significantly affected our overall impression.

The spa has 3 pools with different temperatures and three saunas.
The only very small problem is that it is about 4 km to the major attractions, but that's not bad at all because you can walk more and if necessary you can also take public transport!
Otherwise, a very nice place!

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, and the red-haired lady at reception made communication somewhat difficult. However, we had an enjoyable stay for the Christmas Market. Special thanks to Sercan for helping us in our own language, which made everything easier. The hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the staff are attentive.

The hotel staff is available 24/7. The spa is open until 10 PM and is very quiet. The breakfast buffet is a huge plus, offering a wide variety of choices, both sweet and savory. The hotel is well-connected by public transportation, allowing you to reach the center of Budapest in under 25 minutes. The best option is to purchase a 72-hour pass, which costs approximately €14.
