Great value and a great location. Walking distance from most attractions and of course the Danube River. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Clean, attractive. Would go back anytime.

One thing to note is that since the hotel was in "winter mode", only heating was available in the room, if you want cooling, you will have to turn off the heater and open the window for cooler air to come in. The location is great, close to the city center and about a 20-minute drive from the airport, so getting a taxi is very convenient. The hotel restaurant serves good food too. All in all, it's very convenient.

This hotel is in the city center, close to the Danube River, and very close to the most famous Chain Bridge. The Fisherman's Bastion is still so charming, and the natural city under the sun is so harmonious and beautiful.

Pros: -on a nice and quiet island -staff is helpful -my room had a nice view of the Danube river and a balcony for breakfast -robes, slippers, vanity kit were included in the room (but no toothpaste unlike what is advertised on trip.com) -thermal water spa is nice during off peak times and when less busy Cons: -bathroom not that clean (see photo of bug) -the quality of food at breakfast is lacking...

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The place is very clean and wonderful. The customer service and staff are friendly and attentive, and very keen on guest satisfaction. The room is luxur, esp.bathroom. The location is excellent, near metro. For breakfast, there is buffet line and a la cart menu. On weekend, the BF room is quite busy, It might take time for a cup of coffee served at your table.

The hotel seems a bit old, especially the lift. Should maintain it well. The room size is quite big. View is pleasant. Nearby metro, tram & bus station is the plus point.

The hotel is very close to Metro Line 2, making transportation convenient. It's within walking distance to Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle, which is great for catching the sunrise and sunset. The room facilities are relatively new. However, there are few supermarkets nearby, and they close early, making dining options in the vicinity a bit inconvenient.

The idea of staying in a castle monastery is appealing, especially if you prefer a quieter side of Budapest. The room was pleasant, but not overly luxurious. The breakfast was simple, and the music was too loud when I woke up. The location wasn’t convenient for me, and the monastery experience didn’t live up to my expectations. I stayed on the other side of Pest and had a much better time.

Recent three day stay. Great location right across the road from the Metro. Staff were very helpful upon check and during our stay. One thing I must mention is that the breakfast was fantastic. We are planing another trip to Budapest soon and will be staying at the Nemzeti again.

Good hotel for the price. Unfortunately the TV had the hdmi ports locked. Because of this I couldnt connect my tv streaming device and watch TV from my country. I even asked the reception and they still didnt provide lock code.

The location is great and the rooftop restaurant is good. But the double bed is up against the wall thus hard too get in and out. The loo would not flush after it had been used once. Ridiculous and completely unacceptable! At 8:00 AM, someone opened our room door without knocking or permission. When we complained, the front desk casually claimed it was housekeeping. Are you serious? Who starts housekeeping at 8:00 AM — and without even confirming if the room is occupied? This is not just unprofessional, it is a serious safety and security concern. The location is convenient, very close to the subway and bus stops. You can take the 100E bus from the airport directly to the hotel, but for the return trip to the airport, you'll need to go one stop forward or backward to catch the 100E. The hotel breakfast offers a good variety and is delicious. It's definitely worth recommending a stay here.
