November 2025: What a wonderful gem in the heart of Budapest. It's at Deak Ferenc ter -- about a block from the Ferris wheel (for comparison's sake). The Museum of Illusions is in the same courtyard as the hotel. Quiet, clean; friendly staff; good prices. The metro/subway is about a block away as is the fashion street. A lot of action in the area. Tons of restaurants. And the 100E Airport Express...

3 nights in Budapest Victoria was amazing! Super friendly and gave some great suggestions of things to do in the city. Hotel was centrally located and walkable to almost anything! The room was nice, however the WiFi was spotty at best and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but not terrible.

This was such a cool concept. It’s located in an amazing part of town. The staff was very helpful and the room was very spacious. Would gladly recommend as a key place to stay while in Budapest.

The hotel is in a perfect central location. I have a couple of negatives about our booking. Although it’s called a hotel it’s not. The biggest convenience is the large, free parking lot.

The rooms are poorly insulated against sound : I could hear the person in the next room over snoring and all the traffic in the hallway was very audible.

Location of hotel is perfect. Little part of Danube called Rackeve(Srpski) canal. Service very polite, gentile and kind. Rooms perfectly clean. Beds very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and very exclusive.

This is a great budget hotel! It's convenient, practical, and very clean, with all the essential facilities. The atmosphere is also quite cozy. In the lobby, there's a 24-hour self-service machine offering hot water, hot chocolate, coffee, and various flavored tea bags – though the coffee isn't the best. The front desk staff are also very friendly. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Budapest...

The hotel is really lovely. Our room was adorable and comfortable. We were surprised by all the little things that were provided that made our stay more convenient, like shower caps, cotton buds, body wash... All the power outlets are conveniently placed and the entire place is super clean. We'll definitely be staying here again.

I have slept at more than 30 hotels in Budapest and this hotel is in top 3. The location is perfect. It has indoor parking which is very good for people travelling by car. The stuff is friendly. Coffee for free in the morning whether you pay for breakfast or not. The rooms are clean and they have anything that you need.

Short stay vacation - Budapest I personally enjoyed the heritage of the building and the antiquity. My room 15 was well pointed, large and 2 windows. The breakfast was sufficient to get your day started. Felt like a safe area and good walking distance to main attractions.

In my review I want to specifically mention the politeness of the staff and readiness to support us, good breakfast, convenient location of the hotel and its unique atmosphere of the 30's. The location is good. When I checked in, I told the front desk that I would not have breakfast because I had to go to the airport early the next morning. The front desk enthusiastically said that they would prepare a breakfast package for me in advance.

Given the low price, it's unreasonable to compare it to a luxury hotel; it's exactly what you'd expect for the cost. However, I booked it because the listing said there was private parking, but there isn't. It's just public street parking. The hotel description should accurately state that it's public parking instead of claiming to have private parking.

I quite like the vintage design of the room, and it’s clean and tidy as expected.

We stopped in Room 308, the Jade apartment, which overlooked the National Museum. Lovely clean room with excellent facilities which was so peaceful at night. Within easy walking distance of the 100E bus and the city itself. Friendly helpful staff, would not hesitate to stay there again. Enjoyed our stay there. Thank you.

The room is very large, with a large bed and a sofa bed. The bathroom and shower are separate, and the washbasin is only in the bathroom, which is a bit unreasonable. The National Museum is next to it, so it is easy to spot.

Amazing place to stay in the heart of Budapest, with surprisingly lush greenery just across the street. Everything available within close proximity (dining, coffee, supermarket, museums, etc). We really appreciated the spacious accomodation, arriving from another country where we had significantly smaller rooms. Staff was super friendly as well!

Excellent service and a great location if you’re travelling. It’s about a 5-min walk from the tube station and the 200E airport transfer bus. The room was clean and had everything you might need for a short stay, including some lovely complimentary local snacks. Very pleased — I would happily stay here again.

The Hotel Chesscom has come a long way and improved/changed significantly in the last ten years. For guests who depart or land at Budapest Airport, the location as well ad the price/quality ratio is hard to beat. Friendly, professional english speaking staff, clean, well heated rooms, with comfortable beds. Stable wifi, good water pressure. The only downside is the weak sound insulation.

It's a nice hotel close to the metro station but located on a quiet street. The breakfast was very good. Our room would need a bit of renewal but it was clean, warm and comfortable for our short stay. The people at the reception desk were welcoming.

Really welcoming place. Very big and as well international as national breakfast. Suites are really big and have all amenities from water cooker to hair dryer and shampoo but standard furniture. The room is large, much larger than the average standard room, the service attitude is good, the air conditioning is sufficient, and the breakfast is delicious and fresh.

The hotel has a nice environment, offers a swimming pool and sauna facilities, and is very close to the airport, a 10-minute drive away. It's a great transit point before leaving Budapest.

Some rooms are dark and duster. Some rooms are very well used and you can see and feel the long time of use. The hotel is just okay. its within walking distance from Keleti train station and they offer airport transfer service both ways. The nearby vietnamese restaurant is great especially in cold weather when noodle soup is most enjoyable . Grocery store are nearby too .

The hotel is near Keleti train station, just a 6-minute walk away. We arrived early and were able to check in right away, without having to wait until 3:00 PM. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was clean but there was no kettle or tea/coffee in the room.

Our room was very clean, decent, and beds where very comfortable. There was warm water and heating in our room. This hotel has good connection to the city center, only 20-30minutes away. On the other hand, breakfast could have been a lot better and WiFi connection could be stronger. Other than that, I have no complaints.
